Hollister K. (Holly) Petraeus, Senior Consultant

Mrs. Petraeus was retained as the Senior Program Consultant for BBB Military Line on December 1st, 2004. BBB Military Line is an initiative of the Council of Better Business Bureaus (CBBB) to provide consumer education and advocacy for service members and their families, both locally and on the Web.

Mrs. Petraeus is responsible for overseeing the implementation of BBB Military Line across the United States. She has made on-site visits to the six pilot sites selected for 2005, working to establish the relationships between local BBB personnel and military authorities. She organized consumer classes for teens at the pilot sites through the military Boys and Girls Club affiliation. She has also developed a consumer newsletter for Web site subscribers, as well as overseeing content posted on the BBB Military Line sites. She serves as a military Subject Matter Expert for the Better Business Bureaus, and a resource on military consumer concerns. She has actively contributed to Military Line partnerships with Equifax and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners

Mrs. Petraeus has given BBB Military Line briefings to a variety of audiences, to include: the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon; Business Executives for National Security (BENS); the National Association of Consumer Agency Administrators (NACAA); and the Office of Justice Programs Annual Convention.

From 1982-2004 Mrs. Petraeus has been an active volunteer leader in military family programs at Army posts in New York, Belgium, Germany, Virginia, North Carolina and Kentucky. Most recently, at Fort Campbell, KY, she served as the installation's Senior Family Readiness Group Advisor during a period that included a year-long deployment to Iraq of the entire 101st Airborne Division. She has worked with local, state, and national legislators on issues affecting Army families, to include testifying at two U.S. Senate hearings on deployment-related issues.

Prior to 1982 Mrs. Petraeus held a variety of civil service administrative positions at Army posts in Italy and Georgia.

Mrs. Petraeus graduated summa cum laude from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA in June 1974.

Mrs. Petraeus is a recipient of the FORSCOM Commander's Award for Public Service, the Boy Scouts of America "Service to Families" Award, the Department of the Army Commander's Award for Public Service, and the Department of the Army Outstanding Civilian Service Medal. She is married to U.S. Army Lieutenant General David H. Petraeus and they have two children, Anne and Stephen.
