The Gunderson Law firm negotiated a seller credit that was to be paid outside of closing. The credit was negotiated because the home that I was purchasing has repairs that need to be done and that would get worse over time. I specifically told the attorney that I would not buy the home without the credit. I was told by the attorney at Gunderson that the seller had approved the credit. They also asked where to mail the certified check after the closing. I closed on the home towards the end of December 2021. Since then I have been trying to get the check. The attorneys are now claiming that the seller's attorney is refusing the credit. Gunderson Law firm then began to ignore my emails until I notified my real estate agent of what was happening. I then received a phone call from ******* Gunderson in which he claimed that there was some legal reason why the seller's attorney was denying the credit. My response was that if there was some issue with getting the credit, why did his firm negotiate for me to get it. He then claimed that he would try to get the funds by claiming that the seller failed to disclose some issues with the home. Since then the law firm has simply ceased communications and has apparently washed their hands of the situation. This seems like malpractice to me as I relied on their professional services and their statements that the seller had approved of the credit. This will cause harm to me as I now have a home that requires repairs and I have not received the funds to perform these repairs.
