    Advertising Review:

BBB promotes truth in advertising by contacting advertisers whose claims conflict with the BBB Code of Advertising. These claims may come to our attention from our internal review of advertising, consumer complaints and competitor challenges. BBB asks advertisers to prove their claims, change ads to make offers more clear to consumers, and remove misleading or deceptive statements.

On 5/19/2022, BBB contacted the business regarding a promotion that they were advertising on their website that stated:

    “1/2 Price Savings Event
Get Our Price & Cut It In Half Plus NO Interest, NO Payments Until 2024
    1/2 Price Window Savings
Need 8, Pay for 4 Need 12, Pay for 6 Need 16, Pay for 8 Plus NO Interest, NO Payments Until 2024”

The BBB requested modification of their advertisement and/or substantiation to meet Section 14 of the BBB Code of Advertising which states (in part):

    14. “Free”
14.1 An advertiser may use the word “free” in advertising whenever the advertiser is offering an unconditional gift. If receipt of the “free” product or service is conditional on a purchase:
14.1.1 The advertiser must clearly and conspicuously disclose this condition with the “free” offer (not simply by placing an asterisk or symbol next to “free” and referring to the condition(s) in a footnote); and
14.1.2 The advertiser must not have increased the normal price of the product or service to be purchased nor reduced its quantity or quality.
14.2 The “free” offer should be temporary; otherwise, consumers may view it as a continuous combination offer, no part of which is free. Thus, where it would otherwise confuse consumers, a product or service must not be advertised with a “free” offer in a trade area for more than six (6) months in any 12 month period. At least thirty (30) days must elapse before another such offer is promoted in the same trade area.
14.3 In a negotiated sale, no “free” offer of a product or service should be made where it would likely mislead consumers, such as where:
14.3.1 The product or service to be purchased usually is sold at a price arrived through bargaining, rather than at a regular fixed price; or
14.3.2 There may be a regular price but other material factors such as quantity, quality or size are arrived at through bargaining.
14.4 Offers of “free” products or services which do not meet the provisions of this section may not be corrected by the substitution of such similar words such as “gift,” “given without charge,” “bonus,” “complimentary” or other words which can convey the impression to the consumer that a product or service is “free.”
14.5 Because the consumer continually searches for the best buy and regards the offer of “free” products or services to be a special bargain, all such offers must be made with extreme care so as to avoid any possibility that consumers will be misled or deceived. Representative language frequently used in such offers includes:
    “Free”
    “Buy 1-Get-1 Free”
    “2-for-1 Sale”
“50% off with Purchase of Two”
    “$1 Sale”
    “1/2 Off”
    “Gift with Purchase”
Literally, of course, the advertiser is not offering anything “free” (for example, an unconditional gift), or 1/2 free or 2 for 1 when making such an offer, since the consumer is required to purchase a product or service in order to receive the “free” or “2 for 1” item.
14.6 Whenever such an offer is made advertisers must make clear at the outset all the terms and conditions of the offer.

As of 6/10/2022, after speaking with the business and getting a better understanding of their prices, the BBB finds that the business is meeting Section 14  of the BBB Code of Advertising. In addition, the business has removed the promotion from their website.

Entire household of windows replaced Summer of 2021 with lifetime warranty on the bulk of the transaction. Smaller items had warranty for 5 years (for example). I've had 3 warranty conversations since the summer of 2022 that went well attended to/solved. March of '24, warranty service call inquired and I'm advised that as of December 2021, the company changed hands and the past warranties were not purchased essentially voiding all current warranties. My lifetime warranty is essentially reduced to 3 years and zero notification was sent. I was provided a mailing address only to an individual who apparently was the previous owner as a means of dealing with warranty requests.

I want to tell the facts how the project was done, how the received windows look like and how the installation goes and how the company treat its customer.1. I have ordered a total of ************************ and 1 sliding door. It comes with 1 wrong order, supposed to be slider but comes in as picture window. 1 window was missing the screens.2. A lot of debris can be found along the track of the windows and even within the glass. The black innner sealant within the glass was not installed consistently with wavy patterns.3. 2 of the windows that were newly installed are missing parts for proper insulation and almost all windows feels drafty. I asked for an appointment and yet to hear back from them on the schedule.4. The outside window trim and board was scratched and the paint were off. No communication about it was made to me and the sales and measure tech promised me about no cosmetic damage I need to be worried about before signing the contract..Yet I was left with the ugly scratched window trim. After all the above facts, I wanna share how their customer service treated me.1. I called about the scratched paint issue. They denied it was caused due to the installation. They insisted that it was caused due to my old window was caulked to the trim and the contract does not cover any damage like that. Seriously?! My old window cannot move by itself. And if the damage can be communicated before and even on the day of the installation, I would not be this mad. 2. I was not happy with the window quality itself as I stated above. I called and expressed my concerns and if any certifications can be provided that the windows are passing all the checks. The manager replied that I was the first ever customer questioned about this and there is nothing she can provide to show the windows were made to the standard. What makes a company is not how many nice reviews they get, it's about how they help and think for the customers when issues happened.
