If I could give 0 stars I would. I have been waiting for a refund for a magazine subscription for 3 MONTHS. I have called/emailed every 2 weeks since March 10, 2023 and I have yet to receive a refund, although I have been told every time that the request has been forwarded and the subscription is cancelled and not being delivered. Now I am receiving the following: "Thank you for contacting Customer Service.?I apologize for the inconvenience. Your concern has been referred to our refund department and paperwork is already created. Ticket ID: **************. We appreciate your time and understanding.Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance."I have repeatedly asked to be connected with a supervisor or the refund department, but I keep getting told that the customer service department and the refund department are separate and they can't contact them either. It may be only $20, but it is now the principle - I followed your cancellation procedures and now it is time to honor your own policy.Hoffman Media, LLC Response

I've confirmed with our customer service team that your refund check was mailed on June 1st. Please contact us at **************************************** or *********** to speak with ** directly at our home office if you have not received the check. These are not contacts to our fulfillment center. I'm sorry but we did not receive a request for your refund until May 3rd and our refund checks are processed once a month. I ordered *************************** cookbook-Gather Around the Table Ya'll well over a month ago.I called Hoffman Media in ********** and was told the book was out of stock and that I could go to the website and be put on a waiting list. I asked why they don't notify the customers about the status of their order? How would I know to go to waiting list if no-one told me to do so?I went to the website they told me and there is no waiting list-it just states the book is out of stock.I told the girl on the phone this was very poor customer service and now that I see all the complaints on line about Hoffman its easy to see they are not customer oriented! I'm very sorry but we were unable to process your credit card and we do always attempt to contact customers by email. I have verified that we do have this correct email address on your account. It appears that you have placed another order and your book has been shipped and received. Apparently to online customer account and computer used by customer service are not integrated.We ordered a book in September. The spelling verify on the online order misspelled our address. We caught is immediately on the order verification and corrected it. I find out today 2 months later about it and placed a call to Hoffman customer service. The agent was reading from a directive issue by management that there was nothing she could do. She was very rude and unprofessional. If this is the caliber of this company then I will not do any more business with them nor recommend them. They are in no way deserving of an A bbb rating because of poor customer service.Hoffman Media, LLC Response

I'm very sorry that your address was incorrect however the agent was correct that the shipping address labels had already been sent to the printer at the time you contacted us. It appears that you have ordered and received both cookbooks. We do strive to make sure customers are taken care of and most books are shipped and delivered without issue. I ordered 2 different books separately, Linger around the table, ya'll and It's gonna be good ya'll. When my order came in, I recieved 2 identical books, Linger around the table. I called and was told this was because the second one was sold out. I would think their ordering system would not let me order something they didnt have. However they did say I could return the second for a refund but, I'd have to pay for the return shipping, to return their computers error. They would not email me a return shipping reciept. I do not think Ill be buying from Hoffman Media again.Hoffman Media, LLC Response

They send out subscriptions offers and say a free item southern cottage magazine a $***** value will accompany a pd subscription. I didn’t receive the free magazine. So called several times about not getting it. Representative would say 2-4 weeks. It’s been six months. I call again now they say it’s a digital copy. No where on my subscription offer says the magazine is a free digital copy. Still waiting for my free copy of southern cottage magazine. I ordered Brenda Gannt’ s first cookbook in March 2022. It was immediately charged to my credit card. I have never heard ANYTHING about my order! I thought it was supposed to be delivered in April! Please give me an update!Hoffman Media, LLC Response

We apologize for any confusion but you placed an online order on March 1st for our spring 2022 reprint which was scheduled to ship in late April/early May. You should have received the attached order confirmation when you ordered along with an email in March announcing when the credit cards would be charged and an email last week with your tracking #. Your credit card was charged on March 22nd as we were pulling the address file for our printer. We do have an email address on file and it is the same email referenced in the review. We apologize if for some reason you did not receive those emails. Your USPS tracking # is listed below. ********************** All of the cookbooks have shipped from our printer in Willard OH and the USPS is working hard to get the cookbooks delivered. I checked and we had 9 orders going into Culloden, WV and none have been delivered yet. Based on USPS projections we expect most cookbooks to be delivered by May 18th. Placed a preorder in Nov 2021 for product to arrive in spring 2022, my card was charged at the end of March with the promise my order would arrive late April. May 4th I received a tracking number, but as of today (almost 10 days later) my package has yet to actually arrive at the shipping company to be shipped. I contacted customer service and was told it might be another 6-10 days before it ships. I'm very dissatisfied with this. If I had not honored a commitment it would be unacceptable to them, and I would be expected to make it right. But they are not even offering to update their customers about their delays, let alone make it right.Review from T. G.

I ordered a Brenda Gantt cookbook on 1/8/2022. I was told that my card would be charged 2 weeks before the book shipped. My card was charged on 3/23/22. I am currently waiting on my book and it is 5/9/22. I contacted customer service several times to get no answer about when the book would ship instead they put blame back on the printing company. I got one email that said it would be shipped on 4/29. When I did not receive my shipping information I called several more times very angry. I was finally sent a shipping number that was created on 5/4. The shipping information still says usps is waiting on the shipment from the shipper. The lady at customer service says y’all already sent the book and I need to take it up with usps. Usps says they do not have it. I am very frustrated with all the lies.Hoffman Media, LLC Response

We are excited to offer a reprint and the cookbook will ship as soon as it’s printed in SPRING 2022. We anticipate that cookbooks will ship by the end of April/early May. Your credit card will be charged by HOFFMAN MEDIA for this title a few weeks before shipping. Your books will be shipped by USPS as soon as we have inventory. You will receive an email with your USPS tracking ** * ****** This was the invoice she received. The book is one the way. There WAS a delay at the printer which we had no control over. The tracking information still says it is waiting to be sent to the post office and it hasn’t changed since May 4th when the company created it. I just got off the phone with the post office. They told me that they do not have the package and that I need to request another book or a refund because this company sounds like a fraudulent business.Review from P. C.

Ordered a Brenda Gantt cookbook on 12/4/2021 which was charged to my credit card on 3/24/2022 but as of 5/5/2022 I still have not received the book. I called customer service on 5/2/2022 and left my contact information and received a call back but there was no one on the other end. I have emailed customer service twice and have not received responses to either email. I am just trying to find out when the book is to ship.Hoffman Media, LLC Response

The response from Hoffman Media is false. They are not committed to equal opportunity and building a work space that encourages and values diversity. The ×´so called" practices to consider new vendors do not apply to all vendors. Vendors such as Hawaiin Moon and Click Packs were not subjected to this process. Per our communication with Mark and Elizabeth from The Original Sewing and Quilt Expo, they have the right to change the application process per their discretion. Hoffman Media promotes unfair trade, exclusivity and discrimination. We have made attempts since October 2020 to participate in these events and our applications have been denied. By escalating this issue to Janice from Hoffman Media, we were faced with only hostility and sabotage. When Mark I******* finally replied, we were told to submit samples knowing that he would stall for time and reject our application yet again. These products were not being submitted to a lab, rather straight to the trash can. He requested we submit samples to ensure that our products will not damage vendors quilts. We explained to him that all of our products are double sealed. Submitting samples was not a requirement for the current exhibitors Hawaiin Moon (skin care) , Click Packs (that are known to leak) or Tea Leaves or any other exhibitor outside of the sewing category. A colleague of mine, outside of the sewing category applied and was approved without having to submit samples. There is no such process to submit products for acceptance. We have a trail
of emails from Elizabeth denying our applications. Only when escalated to Janice were samples requested by Mark I*******. Mark stated they have the right to vet exhibitors anyway they want, even if its unfair.
Hoffman Media is allowing unfair trade, exclusivity and discrimination. The actions of the Original Sewing and Quilt Expo have resulted in Hoffman Media breaking the Sherman Act and Clayton Act.
I don't understand how Hoffman Media is claiming they want to work with us, when Mr. I******* "replied all" without realizing we were cc'd on the email telling his team to treat our emails as "spam" and to "ignore". We have all the emails to prove it.
We would like to remedy this unfortunate situation with Hoffman Media without the route of legal proceedings. We expect the same fair treatment as the other vendors who were allowed to participate without being forced into a humiliating and discriminatory application process.
I am raising this issue with the BBB because I believe Hoffman Media was unaware of this "fake" application process and would never allow this unjust behavior within their company.Customer Response

Exhibit A : This email shows proof this company promotes exclusivity by issuing Hawaiian Moon the only vendor to exhibit at Original Sewing and Quilting Expo . Hoffman media claims there is a process , there is no process they automatically deny .
