    15 Dec 2023 Goldstar installed new Carrier heatpump. 18 Dec outside unit leaking white foam. Called Goldstar at 1442. Told would have to wait till tomorrow btwn 8-12. 19 Dec 8-12 No one showed nor called! 1201 called talked to ****. Said he would check. 1328 nothing! Called Gold star talked with ****. 1404 tech showed. Told us it was nothing! 21 Dec 0315 unit stop! Temp dropped 5° before Aux heat kicked on. As of 954am Emergency heat still on. Regular heat not working nor outside unit working. Called afterhour emergency service at 343am. Told me have to wait till 7 Called at 7 talked with *******, said between 8-12 again.

    Simply, Gold Star has stolen our money. They need to return it. We paid for a service contract in May 2023 - 14 months ago. Yet, to-date, we have received "no service". they say they assigned the contract to someone else - a partner company, who has REFUSED to honor the promises of the service contract. They wont refund our money, and they wont ensure that the service agreement is honored. They sold the business in part based on a valuation of a customer base - yet they didnt pass our information properly to the new owner, and refuse to help make sure its honored. very simply, our agreement is with GOLD STAR. We paid GOLD STAR. GOLD STAR HAS OUR MONEY but we received zero communicaitons or service!! That's theft!! .....and not legal.

    Following is the email I sent to Mr. DeDominicis on 7/5 @ 11:45AM requesting more information as we are not able to identify this customer in our system from the name he has supplied to us. We'll need further information from the customer to help him resolve this issue.... Hello Mr. DeDominicis, I'm responding to your complaint that you filed with the Delaware Better Business Bureau on Wednesday 7/3. I can personally assure you that this is nothing more than an administrative oversight, and I'd like your help.... We searched for your name and email in our systems this morning and cannot find a customer record associated with your name. Perhaps the actual customer record when you purchased a service plan doesn't match the exact spelling of your name? or it's listed under a different name entirely? In either case, if you can share more information, we can resolve this issue for you. Please call me personally on my mobile phone noted below so my team and I can assist in resolving this for you. Regards, Steve Hassall P.S. As a bit of background, the owner of GoldStar sold the business last year to a company named F.H. Furr who already operated in southern Delaware, and is a long-tenured heating, cooling, plumbing, & electrical company in the VA/DC/Delmarva regions. Our GoldStar headquarters office is in New Castle DE. We felt that we could more efficiently serve our customers in Kent & Sussex counties by partnering with a company who already had operations in those areas, rather than from our home base in New Castle DE. GoldStar & Furr make hundreds of outbound phone calls daily to our members to schedule their seasonal inspections and tune-ups. It is possible that we just missed your information in our system, but I can personally assure you that if you have a service contract with the GoldStar/Furr team, we will honor every element of it.
