    My complaint took place in May, 2021. I had a new bathroom installed replacing my original bathroom. Over the last month I have noticed that my shower handle is changing colors. I called the plumber who was the contractor for this job. He told me that MKB uses Gerber products which is probably why this happened. He said he only uses Moen products when he does private work. I have called MKB for two weeks asking that someone call me back and that they replace this plumbing fixture with a Moen product. No one has called me back. All I hear from the office personnel is that someone will call me but that has not happened. The total cost of this project was $25,260.00 so it was costly. It was not a pleasant experience working with this company, although all of the contractors were very good. I do not think for the cost of this project that my calls should be ignored. My honest feeling is that MKB believes I will get tired of calling and just STOP. I called the Mayor's office and was told I should contact you to report this issue. For a new bathroom and a costly one, this shower handle should be replaced by a brand new and reputable brand such as Moen. The rep. from the Mayor's office was surprised that a local company would act this way. I have all the papers should you request them.

    • MKB PROJECT ISSUES The first issue took place spring of 2021 and the recent issue took place starting in November 2021. I just received the parts last week they said to hire a plumber to install them. Nice warranty. Listed are the issues I experienced. • Subcontractors were not coordinated from the start. For example, sheetrock installers showed up when the plumbing and electric were not complete. Painting subcontractor showed up before the sheetrock was complete. The project flow was totally uncoordinated. • The installed ceiling fans were not vented to the outside. • They trashed my garage while cutting up materials and never cleaned up the mess. I had to clean an inch of sawdust and other dirt off all my shelving and tools in the garage. • Went a weekend without hot water due to thermal limiting valve not installed in shower during installation. • Failed to install a shelf in the shower that was part of the enclosure. • A month after they completed the project a bad coupling on one of the 4 shower heads caused tens of gallons of water to leak behind the wall. This was the first time we used that shower head. This caused a major flood that trashed the kitchen below the bathroom at the same time ruined a dinner that I was preparing in the kitchen. • Very difficult organization to deal with anyone for problem resolutions. For example we had faucets dripping. We contacted them in November 2021 and it took 4 months to get the parts. They then told me I had to hire a plumber to install the parts after they finally arrived. What kind of warranty is that? No one would return my calls with any resolution. • The painting was subpar and had to be repainted • Had to hire a lawyer to resolve all the issues from shoddy workmanship. The toilet paper holder was installed with one screw and the fixture rotated to vertical. I took care of that myself by buying a new fixture and installing it This was the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor, by far.
