Negative 5 star review for clarification. I had an epic vacation planned and book through AirBnb with my girlfriend for her first time out of country and I got a random email saying they cancelled all my trips and removed me from the app because of a false, embarrassing claim that I have Assault with body injury to a family member with bodily harm! I thought this was fraud or been hack, however I found out this company inflection sent incorrect information to Airbnb and I will be out a few thousand dollars of flights, booked events and PTO from work. I am outraged by their ignorance to make this claim and absolutely ruin my vacation and my girlfriends first time experience traveling abroad to study at the university. I need this corrected immediately to hopefully not lose my bookings and be reactivated.

I received a false positive criminal report reported to Airbnb and my account was locked. As I reviewed the criminal report nothing in the report reflected me other than my name. False positive is not a summation of the efforts of Inflection and the quality of their inquiry to my person has the effectivity of using the white pages and finding just my name would have achieved the same ill effect. Nothing else in the criminal report reflected on information about me.Inflection Response

As a service provider for Airbnb, Inflection conducts background checks on users of Airbnbs platform. Unfortunately, background screening is an imperfect science, and false positives are possible, especially for individuals with common names. Federal law allows for a dispute process under the Fair Credit Reporting Act by which a consumer can contact a consumer reporting agency and officially contest a reported record. In your case, we received your dispute on February 2, 2022, and resolved it within 24 hours. As a result of our reinvestigation, we removed all criminal records from your background check after we determined that they did not belong to you. Airbnb has received a new copy of your background check for their review.
