Vehicle returned on 5/31/24 stating fluid leak had returned and also noted warning lights are still on. Scanned vehicle with Kia’s software, and found multiple faults this time which we have been time stamped and saved on 5/31/24 at 12:56 pm showing malfunctions with C120001 wheel speed sensor front LH, C120301 wheel speed sensor front RH, C1212 vehicle speed sensor, C1625 ABS/ESC CAN time-out, and C240201 brake motor electrical. Priced out front vehicle harness due to damage on vehicle by hitting object. Moved on to leak inspection and verified vehicle still leaking fluid. Cleaned area and test drove at higher speeds. Inspected area and found transmission fluid leaking from cooler line fitting, which was not touched during transmission service on 10/5/23 as this vehicle has specific fill and drain plugs to properly service transmission. Tightened bolt with new washer, test drove, and leak was no longer present. Did not charge customer due to vehicle coming back twice for a leak diagnosis. It was fully commutated with the customer that wiring harness repairs were needed. Customer declined wiring harness replacement and vehicle was released on 6/4/24. Customer returned on 6/4/24 and stated multiple warning lights were on. We scanned the vehicle with the customer which has been time stamped and saved showing same wiring harness damage fault codes that were originally found and saved at 12:56 on 5/31/24. This was commutated with the customer.
Vehicle had and still has active and history faults stored in the computer causing multiple warning lights being on, and we can provide time stamped documents from Kia's software showing these faults stored in computer at the time the vehicle was dropped off by the customer confirming these issues were in fact present. Unfortunately this vehicle has damage to the electrical wiring system, and warning lights will continue to come on and the vehicle will not operate as designed until this is repaired correctly. These faults can also cause the brakes to not release as designed as they are directly related to the braking and ABS/ESC systems. At no time did we have any reason to touch any wiring as it was easily determined that wiring harness repairs were needed.
