I purchased a fence from McGee and was pleased with the process and resulting fence. Due to my experience I recommend this company to my father thinking they will be great for a senior. My father had some difficulty with his neighbour and asked McGee to put the fence completely on his property. During the construction, the neighbour spoke to McGee and made a deal with them to increase the height of the fence on that side from 5 feet to 6 feet and had them put the fence on the property line and McGee made these changes without my fathers approval. McGee billed both my father and the neighbour for that side and the neighbour refused to pay McGee and blamed my father for getting the **** even though he made the deal with them. What resulted was months of harassment from the neighbour and now the neighbour is attaching wood to his side attempting to destroy the fence. Because its on the property line there isnt anything we can do. I contacted McGee as soon as we realized the fence was not all on my fathers property and McGee has never returned our calls/emails or tried to rectify their mistake. The stress of the situation has caused my father health problems. In our calls to the city, we could stop the neighbour if my fathers fence was built in the spot where McGee fencing was originally contracted to build it. While their product so far seems good, I would not recommend this company as they are unwilling to fix their mistakes or even contact you about the issues.

The original contract with your father was for a 5 high fence and during the construction the neighbour had an issue with the height and started harassing my crew to a point that they could not continue installation on that side. I did come to site and had a discussion with both the **************** father, the next day your father informed me that he was good with increasing the height to 6 high on that one side. When I did come back an agreement was made with everyone and the neighbour was going to pay for half the common side, reducing your fathers total cost from the original agreed upon price. When the job was completed, we did invoice according, your father paid his invoice and then we were informed by the neighbour that he was not going to pay his invoice. When your father did contact us the following week, about the placement of the fence and wanting to have it moved from the property line to inside his property, I did inform your father that the neighbour was refusing to pay his share & that I would move the fence if your father would pay the original agreed upon price, your father refused.We do care about our customers, your father did get the fence for less than the originally agreed upon price and we took a loss.

In response to the owner. Both my husband and myself have contacted McGee fencing about the placement of the fence asking for it to be moved to where it was originally contracted to be. We have left several voicemails and sent emails asking to speak to someone to rectify the situation. Not once has anyone called us back or emailed to discuss this. Also, in your reply, it sounds like you where well aware of the difficulty he had with his neighbour and would have had some understanding of the importance of the fence being placed on my fathers property. We are still open to having a conversation about rectifying the situation if your company is open to that. As to your company taking a loss and my father getting a deal. My father has already had to pay legal costs due to the neighbours behaviour and because the fence is on the property line. In all likelihood, he will have more costs in the future as well. My father didnt get any deal, McGees mistake is costing more. McGee only lost money as they made a deal with the neighbour, knowing he was problematic, and the neighbour refused to pay. The loss has nothing to do with us.
