Some of my 8mm and 16mm films were over 80 years old, and I'm amazed at the results. The high-quality scans and use of correction software has ensured that my ancestors will be remembered for all time. One of the reels of film was very deteriorated, but the Experts were still able to scan it producing a very watchable clip. I was also happy to take advantage of the BIG sale for past customers.Review from Mike M

I had about **** of my dad's slides and many reels of 8mm movies converted to digital. Some films had sprocket hole damage and other conversion businesses couldn't work with damaged film. Wow. I am at a loss for words. I have about 4,000 ft of 8- and 16-mm film from 1960 that I had transferred to digital by a local Portland company in 2014. When a film company in Italy contacted me regarding footage of ***** ****** that they had seen on my *******, they asked if they could have it re-digitized professionally. I didn't expect much because the camera work was lousy and the film hadn't been properly cared for. I sent two 8-mm reels that contained the ****** footage, as a test to see the difference in quality. I appreciated that Brad, at Film Transfer Company, was not only super helpful in educating me on film transfer processes, but he didn't try to force me into upgrading to the highest, instead recommended 2K Pro as adequate for the film type and age. When I saw the film I was greatly moved by the increased clarity (compared to the 2014 transfer) that brought the clips to life. I could see wisps of hair!!! Now my mother (deceased) will appear on the big screen at film festivals in Italy, which would have made her laugh, and makes me smile.Review from Charles W

I sent Video Conversion Experts a set of 16 mm family films that were between 50 and 80 years old. They were deteriorating quite badly some of the early footage had faded so much that I could hardly make out images, the sprockets on some parts had been stripped, and the film had become brittle. I wanted the film transferred to two digital formats: one that I could show and a second that I could edit. Frankly, I thought that this was the last chance to preserve the images for my children and grandchildren. The results were astonishing. Faded sections were brought back to life, and the images were just as crisp and clear as I remembered them. I couldnt have been more pleased. Beyond the technical expertise that was necessary to produce such gratifying results, it was easy to communicate with the personnel at Video Conversion Experts. They responded to emails the same day and actually answered the telephone. They patiently explained to me the various options they offer and helped me make effective decisions. It was a pleasure to deal with them. I heartily recommend their restoration services. I certainly will use them again.

I had a 62 yr old 8 mm film that I had no idea what was on it, nor what quality it was. I had heard of this company thru my genealogy hobby and decided to try it. Expense was more than I wanted, but after seeing the results, I'm glad i used this service. Movies are as good or better than they were originally. I had music added which was nice touch too. Film was on one 375 ft reel and had it sent to me on flash drive. I then edited it into each event and made ******* videos on my own channel. My kids and grandkids are loving seeing grandma as a 17 year old! And i am enjoying seeing my parents as happy individuals, as they are both long gone.I highly recommend this company, they were in contact quickly when i had questions and helped me decide exactly what i wanted. About 10 years ago, when my high school class held its 50th reunion, I made a video featuring photography from back in the day. For the movies, I searched for digital transfers of the the best quality, and, after trying other firms, I ended up working with Video Conversion Experts. I was very impressed by their technical skill and dedication to quality.Soon afterwards, I happened to show my video to a professional video editor, who volunteered that the "transfers looked stellar, and asked for contact info.Recently, I decided to transfer some home movies for my family. I was delighted to discover that VCE is still thriving, and that they've worked continuously to improve their technology. The results I received this time are even better than last time!I whole-heartedly recommend VCE for the restoration of movies. Our point of contact was ****, and he was available for questions, provided a detailed price breakdown, and explained the process of digitizing our 8MM Super 8, and 16MM reels dating back to the ****s. We had our film not only digitized, but denoised and color corrected. The work was outstanding and will be added to our feature documentary on Western history, and will also be used by our local historical society. Terrific work. I had 8mm film of my parents' **** wedding as well as other 8mm from the 60s and 70s. Video Conversion Experts made clear ***************** versions of those movies. This outfit did an amazing job of rescuing some 8mm footage my father took in the late 1950s, then stored in a cardboard box that languished in the back of a closet ever since. The film conversion captured color and detail, even though the films were in very poor shape. Kudos to the team for salvaging images of my family from so very long ago. I'd recommend this business to anyone wanting to have the keepsakes of old family films.
