I had a tech check my AC unit that was not cooling and his diagnosis was that my system did not have any freon in it and that it was a very expensive to recharge because it is a 17 years old unit and the air handler was leaking ,he recommended to replace it with a new AC from his company ,I got a few quotes from some companies but they are expensive , I decided to call another tech to diagnose the system and he found out that the unit have freon and the reason it was not working is because a bad part with he replaced and the AC is cooling again, that's tells me he never did a system diagnose or check the freon ,he just wanted to sell a new ACReview from Duane L

We were due for our semi-annual service from Advanced Air yesterday, Jan 26th, **** but we decided we had 12 good years from the Trane System Advanced Air installed and maintained and should probably look into a new system. I asked if I could cancel the scheduled maintenance and instead speak with someone about a replacement. They agreed and sent ******************** to meet with my wife and me just an hour later. ******** inspected our equipment and agreed with the suggestions that the servicemen had made over the last few service calls. We had already gotten more than the average ten years of life out of our existing system and it would be better to replace a working system instead of waiting for a breakdown likely when the summer weather arrived in the next couple of months. ******** understood our situation that we were in our advanced years with numerous medical issues and would likely not be remaining in our home for more than a few years. We wanted a quality system but also wanted to minimize the excess costs of the most sophisticated system. We agreed that it would be wise to get the same quality Trane system we currently had and upgrade to the 10-year Parts and Labor warranty program that was transferable as this would add to the value of our home if we were to sell shortly. We also agreed it would be a good health decision to replace our eight-year-old UV Air Filtration System, especially because of our advanced age. We were very comfortable with ******** and his guidance in this important decision. *****************Review from R. S.

Based on the invoices received during a series of service call in 2023, I noticed that I may have been over-charged for a service call by Advanced Air on June 5, 2023. After 4 phone calls to the Service Manager, I finally received a return call weeks after the initial call made by me and the Service Manager advised that it appeared that I was over-charged by more than $200 and he would ***** me a $250 credit on the pricing for a new HVAC system.During the sourcing process for a new HVAC system, the price quote from Advanced Air was 16% higher than the supplier I chose (which also had a better online rating). Subsequently, I called the Service Manager to ask for a $250 refund for the over-charge from June 5, 2023. I received an email response from him claiming that the over-charge was a smaller amount and since I decided to have the system replaced by another supplier, they will not give me a refund.I should also add that the June 5, 2023 service call was related to a June 2, 2023 HVAC issue I was experiencing and I made a call to them on June 2 and did not receive a return call. I again called them on the morning of June 5 to communicate the issue.Advanced Air exhibited very poor customer service during this entire process.Advanced Air & Refrigeration, Inc. Response

Please find attached the email sent to ************,
************,
Per our recorded conversation, I had said that the technician could have just charged you a per-pound price for the refrigerant rather than the charge for the first two pounds with a labor loaded charge. This did not mean you were overcharged but that he could have discounted the cost to you on that call. The difference between the $332.00 for the first two pounds and the $124.00 per pound charge for the first two pounds is $84.00. Again you were not overcharged. I was looking at everything you had paid for refrigerant and repairs and was looking for a way to help with all of the cost you had incurred to that point and how to help with the repairs yet to be made. The $250.00 was what I said I would discount the coil replacement or system replacement which every way you chose to proceed. Given the fact that you have chosen to have your system replaced with another company I cannot give you the discount.
Respectfully,

I view the comment he could have discounted the cost to you as an implied overcharge. The larger issue is the lack of communications as I had to wait a significant amount of time for the suppliers response. This issue was not addressed by the supplier.Review from Heidi C

Mr. Parisi,
We are sorry that you feel that way. We service your four AC units biannually (every 6 months). The only charges on your account are for a single bulb UV assecory purchase and and a capacitor repair on a service call. On the last maintenance, the technician was concerned about low pressure on you main unit and recommended a leak search. These are the only charges out of the six visits since 2021 to your house. Your units are 2yr, 6yr, 6yr and 7yr old.

Advanced is way overpriced. We recently had a blower motor fail. The motor was under warranty, but we had to pay the labor. It took 1-1/2 hrs to replace the motor, but we were charged $620. We scheduled the job to coincide with regularly scheduled pre-paid maintenance to eliminate a separate trip charge and other procedures. I felt the price was gauging, and I called the Service Mgr. to discuss the price. I called every day for 4 days before he responded, and he wouldn’t budge on the price. He claimed it was the market price, but I called PresidentialA/C and their charge was $350. We have a neighbor who recently moved to Presidential from Advanced and they are saving tons of money. We have another neighbor who switched to Speedy, and they are very happy with them. We will be moving our business, as well. Patrick G.Advanced Air & Refrigeration, Inc. Response

My air conditioner decided to stop working, on a very hot day. Patrick came early and looked over both indoor and outdoor units. He was thorough, professional, courteous. He explained what he was doing and costs. He answered all of my questions. When he left, all was working and I was comfortable again. Good job.
