Irresponsible and incompetent.We used Guidant to perform 401k recordkeeping services for our small business. In 2021, we had to shut down due to the hardship and disruption to the business caused by *****. We informed them that the board has terminated our 401k plan as of 2/19/2021. All the termination paperwork, including a copy of the board resolution, were sent to Guidant, assets distributed and company dissolved. I kept following up for the next 1.5 years inquiring about the final **** but received no response. Suddenly in 2023, they showed sign of life and sent me the **** filing for the following plan year. No mention of the 2021 plan year, and no mention of final plan year filing. After so much back and forth, they admitted that they:1) Failed to prepare **** for the year 2021 on time (2 years late!)2) They provided incorrect funding amounts relating to the 2017 plan year, resulting in addtl liabilities.They agreed to cover the late filing fee to DOL, and some of the contributions due to past participants, if I agree to sign an ****** BROAD release of liability:The Client, releases, discharges, and waives any and all claims, actions, demands or damages that they may have, now or at any time in the future against Guidant, its officers, agents, employees, directors or attorneys, arising from or relating to federal, state or local taxes, penalties, or interest assessed upon the Client or the Corporation by any governmental agency, including the *** or DOL, that result in whole or in part from applicable incorrect funding contributions with respect to distributions as referred to in this Agreement.Guidant, revise your ****** broad release of liability waiver. You've demonstrated your incompetency again and again, so why would I sign off on ALL AND ANY FUTURE CLAIMS.AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

(Less than 1 star if an option) Run away! in 2015 we did a ROBS with Guidant Financial. Their poor bookkeeping, and untimely responses caused us to have to repay with fines an over payment...2 years later! Another time they ran so late that WE had to pay the late fees to the government due to THEIR late book keeping.When trying to close the account, we couldn't get responses, nor could our Investor. Our investor had to do the rollover with minimal assistance from Guidant. They even missed scheduled calls we had to put on THEIR calendar. Now, our business has been closed for over a year and they want more paperwork, stating this is the only legal way to do it. Where were they a year ago?! They overcharge, and are poor at what they do. I'm expecting they will charge us for this, also, and wouldn't be surprised if they tried a year's worth of fees. They only part they did correctly was the initial roll over. Find someone else, or don't mess with the ROBs. It cost us much more than we ever saved from just pulling our $ out!

They are great to get you started but there is absolutely no service after the sale. I’ve paid a monthly fee for years but I can’t get them to return a phone call now. Four messages over two weeks completely ignored.
