Brooklyn Woman Pleads Guilty To Bank Fraud

A woman in Brooklyn pleaded guilty to bank fraud in relation to her role in a $5.3 million vehicle sale scam. For two years, Natalia Korzha worked with a group in Lithuania  to launder money from the scheme in which scam ads for cars were placed on Craigslist and eBay.

Ringleader Indicted In Scheme

A so-called “money mule” who helped shuffle money from victims of an online vehicle scam to the fraud’s ringleaders was indicted in the nearly $2 million scheme. Prosecutors said Lonut Ganea, a Romanian national, moved money from 117 fake car sales to 74 bank accounts at eight different banks.
