Anne-Marie Rosario Flores is the founder of Anne the Plumber in Woonsocket, RI, a woman-owned plumbing company specializing in plumbing, heating and installations. Since becoming a BBB member in 2016, Flores has taken advantage of the organization's benefits.
"Through the years, I've used BBB's services, especially when my business was smaller. You can get business cards and all different kinds of marketing materials. I even used their program for invoicing when I first started. The BBB really helped me build who I am today," said the business owner.
When Anne-Marie Rosario Flores had an issue with her web hosting provider, she turned to the BBB for help. "I had a domain through a web provider, which was connected to my credit card, so my site would renew automatically. But my card expired, the auto-renew failed, and I unknowingly lost my website. When I tried to get it back, the hosting company wanted a lot of money for it. I mentioned what happened to friends, and they recommended that I check with the BBB."
Flores learned that BBB creates free custom, mobile-friendly websites for BBB Member Accredited Businesses. "BBB was much more affordable than that other company," added Flores.
The plumbing professional described the initial process of building her website with BBB. "I had my office staff at the time handle a lot of the communication. We gave them an outline of everything we wanted to see on the site. Then BBB presented it to us. We didn't have to do much. It was beyond easy."
When asked about what it's like to update her website, Flores said, "I'm extremely happy because I can call BBB daily to change stuff if I want to. They answer back very quickly, and they do a great job. So I would promote everyone having their website handled through BBB."
Flores' business also reaped the benefits of BBB's free professional video services. BBB produces videos for Member Accredited Businesses to showcase business owners and tell their business’ story. BBB's creative team goes on location to a member's business and films an interview-style video and takes b-roll shots. When the video is complete, the company can use it as a marketing tool to help tell its story.
When asked about the video process, Flores shared, "It didn't cost me anything, and the person who came out was super professional and easy to talk to. The video was fun to do, and we use it on our website and social media pages."
She continued, "Having a professional video is a positive thing for a business to show customers. I want to share with other business owners what BBB has done for me and my business."
