Better Business Bureau® (BBB®) Serving Greater Cleveland has recently received numerous inquiries, BBB Scam Tracker reports, and a complaint about an online vehicle dealership reportedly auctioning repossessed cars, trucks, recreational vehicles, boats, and other equipment. The company is named ReposvioLKS and is allegedly headquartered at 200 Public Square in Cleveland, Ohio. Consumers have contacted BBB after they became suspicious of the company’s legitimacy after winning the highest bids for vehicle auctions. ReposvioLKS had been posting these auctions on Facebook Marketplace. After winning auctions, the consumers received generic invoices requesting money to be directly wired to ReposvioLKS.
BBB has received inquiries from consumers in Northeast Ohio and beyond. One woman from Alabama reported to BBB’s Scam Tracker website that the company claims “to sell repossessed vehicles for Chase, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, and other big-name banks. I was looking for a used pontoon on Facebook and came across their ad…I won the auction but wanted to determine if it was a legitimate company before sending money. I searched the Ohio Secretary of State database for ReposvioLKS, and there was nothing. At the bottom of one page, I noticed it said KSERAssets, LLC in Nebraska, so I searched the Nebraska Secretary of State website for both names in case ReposvioLKS was a dba, but neither company was listed. I also checked the Ohio SOS (Secretary of State) for KSERAssets and it is not registered there either. I searched Dun & Bradstreet, Better Business Bureau, TrustPilot, and CreditSafe for both names - again, nothing. I called the telephone number listed in case they are registered under another name. I got a voicemail from a foreign female voice saying no one was available to take the call. I decided the company doesn't exist, and the website is a fraud.”
A Florida man filed a complaint with BBB after he lost $25,500 in one of ReposvioLKS’s car auctions. The scammer ghosted the consumer after he wired money through his bank. BBB has attempted to contact the business by phone and email to request additional information and to resolve the complaint but has not been successful. BBB has contacted the property management company that leases space at 200 Public Square, and a representative told BBB, “we do not have anyone under lease (that uses that name),” and they are “also not aware of any tenants in the building that conduct that type of business.” Additionally, the company’s website was recently registered in February 2023 by a domain registrar located in Hong Kong.
Based on this and other information, BBB cannot confirm the legitimacy of Reposviolk and recommends consumers with concerns file a complaint with BBB.
