BBB Northern CO & WY: Nominations now open for 2024 Northern Colorado Ethical Leader Award
(BBB Serving Northern Colorado and Wyoming)
The BBB Serving Northern Colorado and Wyoming Foundation, the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program, Colorado State University College of Business, and the University of Northern Colorado Monfort College of Business are now accepting applications for the second annual Northern Colorado Ethical Leader Award.
This collaborative effort honors a Northern Colorado business leader who exhibits multiple dimensions of ethical leadership and exemplifies a commitment to leadership consistent with the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Principles. These Principles are:
- Integrity - Act with honesty in all situations
- Trust - Build trust in all stakeholder relationships
- Accountability - Accept responsibility for all decisions
- Transparency - Maintain open and truthful communications
- Fairness - Engage in fair competition and create equitable and just relationships
- Respect - Honor the rights, freedoms, views, and property of others
- Rule of Law - Compy the spirit and intent of laws and regulations
- Viability - Create long-term value for all relevant stakeholders
Eligible nominees must own or work for a business or nonprofit located within BBB’s Northern Colorado Service territory, and the company must be in good standing with BBB (at least an “A” rating, no unanswered/unresolved complaints, no advertising issues, and no government actions against the business). For nominees employed by nonprofits, the nonprofit must be BBB Accredited.
The application must be completed by a business or personal associate of the nominee (self-nominations will not be accepted). If a nominee receives multiple nominations, each will be considered separately. If multiple associates of one individual are considering nominating them for the award, they are encouraged to collaborate on one application.
An independent panel of judges will evaluate the nominees on how well their leadership practices reflect each of the eight Principles. The judging panel will comprise BBB board members, faculty, and students from both CSU and UNC.
The 2024 Northern Colorado Ethical Leader Award winner will be announced at the Celebration of Ethics scheduled for April 23, 2024, at the Embassy Suites in Loveland, CO.
Please visit the Northern Colorado Ethical Leader Award website to learn more about the award and nominate an individual. For more information about the award or the Celebration of Ethics, please contact Jami Jonckowski-Wiens at [email protected] or (970) 488-2048.
