BBB Southeast Texas: 2024 Executive Committee and new Board of Directors

Better Business Bureau (BBB) Southeast Texas has announced its 2024 Officers, Executive Committee, and new board members.
2024 Board Chair – Robert Bertrand, Owner of Cotton Cargo. Chair-Elect – Lee Potter, Owner of American Air Systems. Vice-Chair – Michele Cobb, Owner of Cobb Family Chiropractic. Secretary – Ann Scoggin, Owner of Ann Scoggin Coldwell Banker Southern Homes. Treasurer – Anthony Toups, General Manager of Classic Acura. Past-Chair – Leslie Harrison, Executive Vice President, Employee Benefits at Higginbotham Insurance.
The 2024 Executive Committee will consist of the following Directors: Tim Baker, Owner of Baker Auto; Jennifer Burch, CEO of Best Hospice Care of Texas; Natasha Garrett, CEO at G&G Enterprises; Kathryn James, Customer Relations Senior Manager of Conn’s HomePlus, LaDedra Jones, Chief Technology Officer at Rave Financial, Paul Skinner, Owner of Function4.
The following Directors were elected to serve another three-year term on the Board: Dr. Michele Cobb, Elton Hollis, Owner of Hol-Tech Resources, LaDedra Jones, Raquel Ochoa, Owner of Golden Port Construction, Anna Papa, Owner of Tanglz Color Studio, Jennifer Pate, Government Relations & Industry Advancement at CRH AMAT Texas Group, Ann Scoggin, and Ashley Stone, Customer Service Manager at Entergy.
In addition, two new Directors were elected.
BBB welcomes Dee Lane, Commercial Sales for Vector Security, and Amy Tarver, Human Resources/Office Manager for Bill Clark Pest Control.
Dee has worked in the security industry for over 42 years, beginning with Meco Systems, National Guardian Security, Guardian Force Security, and Triangle Solutions. She is actively involved with many organizations: Nederland Chamber of Commerce, Past Chair and current board member; Sales & Marketing Executive Club, past President; Beaumont Chamber Foundation, the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce, past board member; Leadership Beaumont; Seafarers Center of Beaumont president, Beaumont Founders Lions Club and a longtime member of Wesley Methodist Church in Nederland. When not working, Dee enjoys cooking, reading, and music. But her biggest enjoyment comes from spending time with her family and friends.
While attending Lamar, Amy worked at American Valve & Hydrant and joined the AVH Team full-time upon graduation. Over 17 years, Amy served in several positions leading up to being the company's human resource director. After having her third child, Amy felt a calling to be at home more and work on a part-time basis, where she held the Leadership Beaumont Executive Director position for the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce prior to joining the Bugspert Team. Over the years, she has served as a member or on the board of several service and business organizations, including United Way, Beaumont Chamber Foundation, Southeast Texas Human Resources Association, Golden Triangle Business Roundtable, Lamar Alumni Association, and Calvary Baptist Church. Amy was honored as a Leadership Beaumont Distinguished Alumnus and was a 40 Under 40 Young Professionals recipient. Outside of spending time with her husband and children in all of their various activities, Amy enjoys running and facilitating women’s bible studies at her church.
BBB looks forward to launching a new leadership summit this year, expanding programs, and continuing to grow and evolve with the SETX business community.
