Better Business Bureau Serving the Pacific Southwest (BBB) announces the launch of its 'Joe Knows Better' podcast, dedicated to empowering consumers with valuable insights hosted by seasoned investigative journalist, Joe Ducey. As the Associate Vice President of Public Engagement and Investigative Outreach with BBB, Joe aims to expose scams, celebrate ethical businesses, and equip consumers with the knowledge to cut through marketplace confusion with his new venture.
"The launch of 'Joe Knows Better' is timely and crucial in an era where consumer confidence is paramount, and this podcast provides another avenue to explore topics relevant to all of us,” said Joe. "As a trusted resource, I’m committed to providing listeners with actionable insights to protect themselves from scams, learn about ethical practices, and find trustworthy businesses from the start."
The 'Joe Knows Better' podcast debuts with two compelling episodes, available for streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, iHeart Radio and YouTube. In the first episode, Joe converses with Tom Cole and Cindy Casaus from the Arizona Registrar of Contractors to discuss common complaints, tips for hiring contractors, and the importance of checking BBB reviews before making a decision. Next, Joe interviews Smart Shopper, Daphne Munro, formerly of ABC15, who shares insider tips on finding the best shopping deals, while Joe tests her consumer law knowledge. Topics up next include hiring the right AC repair contractor, buying used cars, and navigating solar installation.
With a distinguished career as an investigative journalist spanning over two decades, Joe most recently headed the 25-person Let Joe Know/BBB volunteer team while at ABC 15 in Phoenix where he helped thousands of consumers save, or recoup, millions of dollars. Joe is recognized for his commitment to empowering consumers with the knowledge needed to make informed purchasing decisions, and has been honored with a Peabody Award, National Investigative Emmy, regional Edward R. Murrow, and multiple Emmys.
