BBB Northern Colorado & Wyoming: Shelley Polansky Elected to IABBB Board of Directors

BBB CEO Shelley Polansky as newest IABBB Board Member

(BBB Serving Northern Colorado and Wyoming)

BBB Serving Northern Colorado and Wyoming president and CEO Shelley Polansky has been elected to the board of directors for the International Association of Better Business Bureaus (IABBB). Polansky’s election was announced earlier this month at the International Assembly of Better Business Bureaus, the annual gathering of all local BBBs.

IABBB is the network hub for the local BBBs throughout the United States and Canada. IABBB is responsible for setting national policy such as the Standards for Trust, Code of Business Practices, and Code of Advertising. IABBB sets standards for BBBs to follow and metrics to measure baseline success. And IABBB coordinates national marketing campaigns and programs to grow and enhance the BBB brand.

The IABBB board of directors consists of executives from local BBBs. The board is responsible for setting the strategic vision for the brand and approving IABBB programs and policies.

Shelley Polansky’s career with BBB Serving Northern Colorado and Wyoming began in 2008 with various roles in dispute resolution and outreach before joining the management team as vice president of marketing, communications, and outreach in 2013. Polansky later also became the executive director of the BBB Serving Northern Colorado and Wyoming Foundation, BBB’s 501(c)(3) which houses education, outreach, recognition, and nonprofit-focused programs. In 2019 Polansky was named president and CEO following the retirement of Pam King.

Polansky has served on numerous IABBB committees. Her most recent appointment was the Excellence Committee earlier this year. The purpose of the Excellence Committee is to promote and celebrate BBB success, ensure the overall health of BBBs, including in the areas of revenue, market penetration, and impact, and oversee and foster the development and consistent implementation of BBB programs, products and services to ensure continued excellence in delivery and strategic relevance.

“I am humbled and honored to be elected to serve the greater BBB system with a seat on the IABBB board for directors,” said Polansky. “I think this is a recognition of the work our local BBBs has done in advancing BBB’s mission and growing the BBB brand in our Colorado and Wyoming service territory. I look forward to bringing that same enthusiasm and ideas for BBB’s future to the IABBB board.”

Shelley Polansky will begin her term on the IABBB board of directors in January 2025. For more information on the work of the International Association of Better Business Bureaus, visit the IABBB website..
