On March 17, 2023, the SEC announced charges against Massachusetts-based investment adviser Jeffrey Cutter and his advisory firm, Cutter Financial Group LLC ("CFG"), for recommending that their advisory clients invest in insurance products that paid Cutter a substantial up-front commission without adequately disclosing Cutter's and CFG's financial incentive to sell the products. Cutter also made false statements in applications for the insurance products and made false statements to at least one client regarding his commission compensation.

Thank you for the opportunity to respond. While our firm was apparently not a good fit for this potential client, this review contains factually inaccurate claims that warrant a response. The firm, a registered investment adviser with over $200,000,000 in assets under management, does not take custody of any client assets, which are held at a well-known institutional broker dealer. The firm does not recommend a simple "cash out of all current investments, but tailors recommendations to each clients investment objective, risk profile and tax situation, among other factors. The firm makes use of diversified model securities portfolios provided by a US-based investment manager. We believe that the firms advisory fees are comparable to those charged by similar advisers. In any case, clients are free to compare: advisory fees are disclosed in advance, and the advisory agreement provides that clients may terminate the advisory relationship at any time without penalty.
