    I had booked a flight with Westjet airline from to *********** ******** to ******* ****** on *** March, 2024 which was scheduled to depart at ****pm However, upon arrival at the airport well in advance ( *pm), I was told by the supervisor at Westjet **************** (***********************) to pay for my carry-on bag which was weighing ***kg, I declined, stating it was my carry-on bag and I don't have to pay for it because it's weighing 9.6kg, and the agent became so furious and told his colleagues to close the register and told them not to assist me further. There was no sign of any representative who could address my concerns or provide guidance. This lack of presence and support from their staff caused me significant inconvenience and anxiety.I waited patiently for some time, assuming that the agents might be dealing with an unexpected situation. Unfortunately, no alternative arrangements were made, and my repeated attempts to locate someone from westjet staff proved fruitless. As a result, I was unable to complete the check-in process within the designated time frame and was ultimately denied boarding the flight.Apart from the fact that I missed my flight entirely, I incurred additional expenses for rebooking a new flight, which disrupted my travel plans and caused unnecessary stress. This experience not only tarnished my perception of the airline but also caused financial loss and inconvenience.In light of the inconvenience, stress, and financial burden caused by this incident, I have written several letters for this to be resolved but Westjet does not want to take responsibility and I kindly request the following:1. Compensation for the additional expenses incurred due to rescheduling my flight, which amounts to $****** 2. A sincere apology for the inconvenience and distress caused during my travel experience & trust that you will rectify this matter as Westjet has not done anything to resolve this.I look forward to hearing from you soon as possible.

    We arrived in *********** on Monday June 24 through WestJet vacations. On Sunday June 30 at 3:02am we received an email from WestJet letting us know our flight for Monday July 1 was cancelled and we should receive a new booking in the next 2 hours. We never received a new booking and proceeded to call for hours on end, never getting through to a live person. At times we were on hold for hours and then disconnected. We went to our WestJet rep at the hotel and she too could not get through and did not have any other information. We did not know what to do so we took a taxi to the airport on Monday hoping they could help us. We were at the airport all day and they were not able to get us on another flight, all flights were booked even with other carriers since people had been stranded since Friday June 28 due to the strike. We did not get much help from the WestJet workers there; they too were saying they were having issues getting through. We were told to find somewhere to sleep so we ended up at a hotel near the airport for the night. We went back to the airport on Tuesday morning and after spending the whole day there the WestJet manager was able to get us on a flight home on Saturday July 6, keep in mind we were supposed to be home on Monday July 1. They said that was the best they could do since hurricane ***** was coming and they were still dealing with backlog from the strike. Thankfully, we made it through the hurricane without much damage to where we were staying, of course we did not have power, water or internet access for the rest of the week. We did not plan for a 2-week vacation, we missed 4 days of work and incurred many out-of-pocket expenses for hotels, food, bank fees, transportation, not to mention the stress that this whole thing has caused. I am not sure how something like this could happen to anyone. We were stranded without any support from WestJet, not even a voucher for a bottle of water or a meal or a place to sleep.
