Contacted this company and individual in good faith to clean and lubricate a large grandfather curio clock. The clock face, weights, and pendulem were picked up **** ****** He told us at the time the completion of work would be done within 2 weeks. Phone call ******* needed some parts. Retainer deposit of **** by cheque which cleared *** ****. Several cancellations to return and reassemble the clock were promised. On *** ***** ***** spent 3+ hrs at our residence. He was not able to anchor clock face or set strikers, it was not re-assembled, said he would be back in a couple of days. Requested balance of monies ********* and promised invoice and breakdown would be e-mailed later in day, paid by cheque which cleared *** ****. Cancelled *** ***** appointment to re-assemble, stated invoice would be delivered shortly. ***** came to house *** ****. My spouse had completed the clock assembly, set strikers, pendulum and chimes. ***** left and verbally acknowledged the invoice would be delivered or e-mailed. *** ***** by e-mail reminded ***** about invoice. ***** **** response from ***** - "no problem". We have not heard anything from the company or ***** since. I sent a request for an itemized invoice or return of our monies. No Response. In early April we had a solicitor do a demand letter for return of funds ********* with a 10 business day response clause, again no response. The company and/or ***** do not return calls or answer e-mails.
