Date of Transaction: May 13th, 2022 Amount Paid: $2500 Services Promised: Demolishing the Concrete and Hauling it Away Nature of the Dispute: ****** ******** from AC Concrete demolished our driveway and left the slabs which represented a hazard for two weeks in front of our house. After few unreturned phone calls to him, we wrote him an email notifying him that we no longer want to work with him as the project was urgent and that we need to move on. He showed up at our house and told us that he already ordered concrete for us that will arrive in a couple of days.After we told him we don't want to work with him, he said that never in his ********************************************************************************* the middle of the project. He refused to remove the concrete that was sitting in the front of our garage for a week and represented a hazard for us and our neighbors and said he will not leave until we pay him $2500 for demolishing the concrete. He got aggressive and said he is "fed up" with us and he "won't touch" the pile of concrete he left behind himself. We didn't want to pay as we wanted to get a second opinion in regards to how much this job costs (demolishing the concrete). He said it costed him $5 per one square foot to demolish it and we trusted that we needed to pay at least for this job and hire someone else to pour the concrete. However, the 2 big concrete slabs were left untouched and he said when he sees the money then he will be able to finish the job. After he left, we inquired with another contractor and he said demolishing the concrete AND removing it from site costs $1800. The new contractor even came to our home to see what was done and pointed to us that two concrete slabs were still attached to the house and had to be removed, that the pieces have to be much smaller in order to be able to lift them and haul them away and that breaking slabs into smaller pieces would cost us $1800 which we had to pay to finish the job.
