Very rude counter service. I travelled from ************ area to Calgary Lock and Safe to have copies of a key made. The keys (3) did not fit into the lock. I took them back to them. The guy was more interested in my receipt than even to offer an apology for their mistake. When I tried to explain my inconvenience the guy said we dont need your attitude. Then as I left he told me never to come back As a property manager, I have dealt with many locksmiths, but I never dealt with anyone as ignorant as the worker at Calgary Lock and Safe!!

I'm one of the owners with Calgary *********** and take these kinds of things very seriously. We have CCTV in the building and were able to review the situation described above. From what I watched and heard, the customer walked in our front doors to the front counter and tossed the keys down and exclaiming quite agitatedly that "your guy cut these wrong". Our shop manager *****, whom won the company MVP award in December, said "Sorry about that - do you have your receipt with you". The reason we ask for a receipt is not for proof of purchase, but to identify which technician cut the keys so we can review it with them and retrain them if required. We guarantee all keys we cut by policy.When the receipt was produced, our manager said "I should be able to fix the problem" as he walked in to the other room. In a few minutes he returned from our key room and handed the keys to the customer and said "there you go my friend, those should work for you". Sounding quite agitated, the customer mentioned, in front of our staff and full showroom of customers, that he had to "drive way across the city" and that he would "expect that kind of thing from Rona or Home Hardware". Mid-sentence our manager responded sternly that "I'm sorry sir, but we do not accept conversations like this here, to which the customer responded "just give me my keys!". The shop manager gave the keys to the customer and asked that he "not come back" to which the customer shouted in something we could not decipher. Speaking to our manager this was his written response to the incident: "It is my belief that if my staff are loved, cared, supported, and protected, they will pass that to their coworkers and our valued customers. I refuse to accept aggression or abuse of any kind for myself or my staff. We made a mistake and I take full responsibility for that. I chalk this up to a bad moment between people which is where we leave it. We give our team the right to refuse unsafe work environments, both physically and mentally, and will support them in speaking up if they feel unsafe.
