BBB reached out to Ironbridge Metal Roofing on January 12 2023 regarding a Pattern of Complaints about Refund Issues, Service Issues and Customer Service Issues. BBB has received several complaints from consumers who are paying a deposit, and the work is not getting completed. When the customers request a refund of the deposit, the business does not respond. To date, BBB has not received a reply to these concerns.

On Aug. 22, 2022 we signed a contract with Gary M** at Ironbridge Metal Roofing to have him install a metal roof on our house. We gave him an $11,000 deposit as he had requested to be used to order the necessary materials. As the months went by and Gary would not return our phone calls, emails and texts, we became suspicious of his intentions. We did some digging and found others who had complained to the Better Business Bureau, alleging that Gary took their deposits and then disappeared (these complaints were never responded to by Gary or resolved with the BBB). We became aware of several other individuals who Gary owes money to including a former landlord, contractors, as well as other customers (often senior citizens) who gave deposits to Gary and never heard from him again. On Oct. 30th, 2022, after confronting Gary with this information we were able to get him to sign an agreement to return our money by Nov. 13, 2022. Unfortunately Gary chose not to honor our agreement and return the money. Gary stated that he needed more time to sell the materials that he ordered for the job however he has refused to provide any evidence that he even ordered the materials in the first place. We called every metal supply company in Calgary and found no record of an order placed by Gary for our house. In fact it turned out that Gary owed money to most of the supply companies and that many of them had frozen his account. Finally we offered to take the materials (assuming they even existed) in place of having our deposit returned and still Gary came up with excuses as to why he could not do this. To this date Gary has not returned our deposit. My wife and I worked very hard for the $11,000 deposit that we gave to Gary and all we are asking is to have our hard earned money returned. We would prefer not to have to take our case to the police and serve Gary with a lawsuit but we will do so if necessary. If this were to happen to anyone else we would encourage them to do the same.Initial Complaint

On May 12, 2022, Gary M** of Ironbridge Metal Roofing provided us a quotation of $5670.00 to have our roofing done. We accepted to proceed with the quote and he requested half of the deposit to order materials. He informed us that he will have our roof done by the end of June. As the time approached, we made contact and he informed us that he was out of town and had not yet received the materials. We tried to make further contacts however he texted informing us that he is out of town. We requested to have our deposit returned in July as the service was not done. We became suspicious when we noticed that his website was no longer in service, he did not answer calls and his emails were returned to us. We made a deposit of $2835.00 via email transfer. He has not been in contact with us further, the service was not done and he has not returned our deposit.Initial Complaint

: We and Mr. Gary M** had a contract of replacing a shingle roof by a metal roof for our house. We agreed with whatever Mr. M** offered. On his request, we deposited an amount of $11,261.25 CAN on September 8th, 2021. Since then we did not see any progress that he promised finishing our roof. We mentioned him many times our roof is leaking and we are always worried when there is a rain. It seems he totally ignored. Because we ran out of the money, we had to ask another company to replace our roof by a shingle type rather than a metal type in July 2022 to prevent the rain water leaking through the roof. We asked him to return the money back but there is no hope. We also asked a debt collection company to collect the money. However, they checked and gave up since he got no money in his bank. We'd just like to let people know this is a scam company and should not get into his trap. We still see his ad on the website and on the Kijiji that sounds very attractive and emotional. ******************************************************************************************************** ****** ** *** *** ** **** ** **** ******** Thanks.
