I purchased a 2020 Lexus LC 500 with under 14K kms on it online from Lexus of Royal Oak as a "Zero Accident vehicle, according to their listing on **********.When I got the vehicle I discovered that it was involved in a front end accident.I immediately contacted my salesperson about the problem and they refused to work with me on it, quote:"...the front bumper might just be centered by some speed bump or curbs at any parking lot, because it is so low..."I found a sticker on the driver's door jamb from **** **** **** ***** ******** **. According to the ****** report it was back in 2019, that's where my car came from to *******, **.I don't know what they did 3+ years ago, It might be another case, because when I looked underneath, both sides and rear area were dirty as normally, but the front bumper cover is very clean with fresh paint on it.You don't need to be an auto body expert to notice that the bumper cover doesn't match up; the headlights and fender lines are a bit lopsided and you can clearly see the overspray. It is definitely a low quality aftermarket job.I went to my local Lexus Dealer to fix the front end and they gave me a quote of $******** for a new bumper cover and paint job.I'll ****** a few pics of a yellow LC in OEM condition (and double kms) vs my ***************.

      Business response

After initial discussions with our sales management team and sales consultant we have been in touch with Mr. *******.   Mr. ******* bought the vehicle site unseen as he was from the United States.  Our sales manager was in touch with Mr. ******* and it’s our belief that Mr. ******* understands that we did our due diligence in inspecting the vehicle and as a dealership we still hold the belief that this vehicle was never in an accident.   We informed Mr. ******* that if he could substantiate his claim by way of evidence through a reputable body shop then we were more than happy to participate in the cost of the repair.

Mr. ******* also inquired about the process he would need to go through in order to get his gst back since he was from the US.   We do not normally get involved with matters related to offering opinions out of country tax implications however after some further checking with some outside accounting opinions that we could return the gst to Mr. ******* and have since cut him a cheque.

At this point in time we feel we have been more than amiable and amendable to Mr. *******’s concerns and consider the matter closed.

      Complaint: ********

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********.

I've talked to Mr.**** ********** and *******, another manager at the Lexus Dealer and they agree to partially cover my repairs based on ******** Lexus quote. I found another body shop recommended by one of my friends.

The car is in that body shop right now. They said that they will save the bumper cover as it is with no new paint on it but they've pulled a radiator support out for about 3 to 4mm in order to install the bumper cover and the headlights on its original position.

I will ****** a few pictures from the body shop. (I can't upload more than 4 pictures in here) The cost for the job is $******** and I am asking to cover it in full.

      Thank you.

      Sincerely,

      ****** *******
