I am a first time home buyer. They told me I don't qualify for the benefit. They were wrong. They read the rules wrong. Now I'm having problems with CRA recieving the change if information. The tax assessor us away now. I've been in that place ten times for my 2023 tax return. And going in again today. I'm a veteran.

0 Stars!H&R Block doesn't have anywhere to fine a complaint or to help you if one of their "tax professionals" makes huge mistakes in your filing and then won't return calls or email you back. This is the most unprofessional and incompetent company I have ever dealt with regarding something as serious as your taxes. I used JH&R block for years, when I moved out of country I was told "we can still do your taxes, just come to Canada and we will file for you".... BIG MISTAKE! They claim to be able to do your taxes cross border and believe me, they cannot and then when you're back in your country of residence, you cannot even call H&R Block for am help to resolve the issues they created. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, spend a little more and have a CPA do it.

Not confident that my filing was correct. I just received a notice from *** regarding my GST (see below) and sent a message online and did not hear back. Today I called and was on hold for 1/2 an hour and nobody answered the phone. I thought I paid for expertise, but clearly did not get it. What am I supposed to do now? I used to have an Account file my taxes, I think I would rather pay more to get it done correctly. This is terrible service. The *** cannot calculate the amount you may be entitled to receive for all periods because the necessary information has not been received. If you provide the information requested in the Explanation section, it will be processed and you will be notified if you are entitled.

0 Stars if I could!MD ***** at ***** Location in ******* has really messed up my taxes. I have paid over $2,000.00 to do my taxes and I have had to spend over 5 hours on with CRA correcting mistakes and trying to find my tax returns. I sent all my info in with over a month for my taxes to be done on time, still they aren't in - CRA has no record of them and said I will have to pay penalties!I have been emailing and calling asking for my agent to call me and go over my returns to be sure they are correct, it's been a month and no one will call me. I have no receipts, no *** or really anything at all. The only contact I have had is to tell me they are part time after April 30 and he will "get to it" - even though I handed in everything to him well before that and they should have been e-filed, but CRA has nothing from them.H&R Block has really gone down hill. I do not recommend them.

MD at the ************* location has once again provided the utmost customer service with his professionalism and knowledge. We are return clients of many years and MD has not wavered in his excellent service. Thank you! And.see you next year!

Our tax preparation doubled this year from 200 to almost 400 dollars. We didn't ask the price to have 2 returns done as we expected a moderate increase. We were shocked when we came in to pay. Response from a manager was, "we just work here, we don't set the prices". After weeks waiting to resolve this with head office we had the same result. The taxes took 15 minutes to complete and we were told to call our own pension provider as they couldn't figure out a line. They couldn't submit electronically and we were told they could only mail it, which they did. We feel absolutely ripped off. We will never return.

I had the worst experience filing with this company ******************* on ************). My appointment was at 6pm and I didnt get to see someone until 7:30. An hour and a half of my time gone. In that hour an a half I was completely ignored to the point where I had to get up and ask how much longer. I am pretty sure walk ins were seen before me, so what did I book an appointment for? When it came to filing I was barely asked any questions for things to claim. Then the girl doing my taxes said it would cost me $149 to file with them!! She couldnt tell me where on the website it said that anywhere. I argued this because of my hour and a half wait but was told it was what it was. Then when I went to pay at the front desk I was only charged $103. Makes me feel like I was ******* because when you ****** what a simple T4 return costs it says $49. On top of it this office was gross, with an employee constantly going out for smokes and smelling like it when he came back. I will never in my life file with this **** of a company ever again.

They quoted a price to do my fairly simple return. Took 40 mins, not very long. But after completing it, the price I was given was one third higher than quoted. When I questioned it, the tax filer told me it’s because it’s nearing the end of the month and that’s what the system generated. How is this relevant that it’s near the end of the month? Be careful, the price they quote will not necessarily be the price you pay! Why do they even quote a price if they know it’s not in the ballpark? They should say they don’t know the price until after they complete your return. ****** **** ** ** ******* *********

There isnt a lot of knowledge coming from the staff. The person doing our taxes was insulting. I would have been better off filing myself. Their bar is low. Never again.

H & R Block is awesome in the sense that you go in, is done and it's guaranteed. For that reason I have been long term. Next year might be looking for someone else. The pop up location ********, ** **** **** ***** ** *********** what happened to me there, never should. Like, ever. I was verbally *********, the person jumped up and walked away, after I asked her to reasonably check something. The others quickly filled in but it was clear they didn't care about me, only wanted service fee. Except for Edith actually. She really cares. I still have a headache today, but have reported it properly at least. That's all can do. When sat there for a bit outside the enclosure but was shoo'ed away apparently at that location, they don't allow us to be present. I've always been there, at the desk before. Told come back in about an hour. But I saw their attitude towards the clients. If this is accepted, no wonder the associate preparing mine felt entitled to her rude and very uncalled for behaviour. What I said was right makes me wish not only a visual, but also audio is available. It's being looked into. **** ****** ******* ****** ** *** *** ** ****** ** ******* I had and still do, an unnecessary feeling of discomfort and stress. And paid lotza money for that. They don't care is obvious, that's why am telling to possibly save others. Think about it if you have other options before that particular pop up location. I've never had anything at others ****** ****** awesome. The lady shoved my papers towards me and said go there lol actually. Wish that I had. H & R Block overall is highly recommended. Maybe just study first the location and get background info on who will be filing and the way they treat customers, looks is very different times now.
