On February 1, 2021, I met ***** ********* at a veterinary clinic in ********** to pick up a new puppy named ******. ****** was born on December 7, 2020. I paid $2940.00 for him. The following claims were made on the opening page of her website and we trusted that we would be getting a healthy puppy. BREEDER OF QUALITY DOGS ALL PARENTS ARE GENETICALLY TESTED. *** ACCREDITED MEMBER We felt that her claims gave her some credibility so we trusted her to sell us a healthy puppy. I now know they are false claims and she is in direct breach of her sales guarantee and our mutual sales contract. On October 27, 2021, ****** was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia in both hips. He was 10 months old. We have the opinion of 3 veterinarians, Dr. *****, Dr. ********, and Dr. ***** that this is ABSOLUTELY a genetic disease and ****** was born with it. He had his first surgery on November 17, 2021. Dr. ******** performed surgery on his left hip as it was the most severe. After 8 weeks of restricted activity, we are waiting to book a day for surgery on his right hip. I did explain the situation to ***** *********, I requested proof of the genetic testing, I have provided her will the x-rays, the receipts as well as everything else she requested like a neutering certificate. Her unwillingness and total lack of response to my emails have made me proceed with this complaint and civil court litigation may be the next step. To date, I have spent in excess of $7000.00 and anticipate at least $6500.00 for the next hip. I have provided ***** ********* with all receipts. It is absolutely cost-prohibitive; but we love ******, my kids have bonded with him and we have had to manage his pain and discomfort from hips. ***** was absolutely in breach of her promise of genetically tested parents and in one exchange she stated she had never heard of hip dysplasia and then said it's not genetic.
