    Rural Roots Stoneworks Response

    21/10/2021

Hello Chris, we have had several conversations with you and as Rural Roots Stoneworks Director, I have emailed you directly. Your concerns were discussed and addressed where/when required. Your feedback in texts stated you were very happy with the job. Your first concern addressed to us, was a text stating that we had trampled one of your plants (in an area we were not working in). The plant only required watering on your part to revive it in the 30+ degree heat. To reiterate, the other concerns : "unleveliness" as you state, at the stairs is a slope, required by code. This is a requirement so that water/ice will not sit in this area and cause injury. Our suggestion was to move your bbq to another location or adjust the legs to accommodate the slope. You mentioned staining on old concrete that was cleaned for you. The staining was a pre-existing stain that became visible upon a good cleaning. We did not use any staining material for your job of any kind, and are not responsible for existing concrete (that we did not pour) and its condition. The small patch repair that was completed, as a return and response to another concern, was addressed and as stated will mute in its appearance over time. You have been reassured that this patch will meld in, with time and exposure to dirt and the weather. It is a very small exposed patch that was required to mitigate and a deeper spray by the pressure washer, it does not weaken the area. It will remain shiny until the elements break down the epoxy. On this concern, we have mitigated it in the best way, and will stand by our work. The job has been completed in its entirety and approved by yourself. We have been very flexible in addressing any concerns you brought forward. We can forward the communications we have had with you if you wish for your perusal. I did not respond after my last email dated October 7, 2021, as your email dated the same date, was requesting "a $500-$700 refund and I won't bother you". Ethically, I stand by my response that "no further communication is required, nor is a refund necessary in this circumstance". I will not partake in a back and forth debate with you, as I have given you my responses to all the concerns you have brought forward. We stand by our work and are committed to customer satisfaction, yet we are also aware that there are times when an individual will never be happy and will continue to complain regardless of how many hoops they expect a company to jump through. At this point, all concerns have been addressed to my satisfaction. Again, we appreciated your business and wish you the very best.
