      August 30, 2021 we met with *** the owner of Eakins construction. He told us he would come in and complete our house renovations in 10 weeks. He came into our house apart and left. My wife and I and our 4 kids were forced to live 4 months with the only functional toilet located in a room with no walls or door, no sink or shower, no flooring (just exposed subfloor with nails sticking out of it and holes in the floor) and live exposed electrical wires dangling and hanging from multiple places and couldnt get him to come in and finish the work. It is now May 3rd 2022 and the work isnt close to complete and I still cant get a hold of him. What weve received so far is: an unfinished kitchen with no proper sink, hood fan or cabinets, no ceiling or lights in the basement, a brand new shower that leaks water everywhere, two floods during the renovations, unstable electrical where we lost half our power and full heat when temperatures were below 0C and were told it could happen again at any point in time, lost our doggy door, lost our ceiling fans, scratched floors and damaged walls / ceilings, endless messes we had to clean up, and the list goes on and on. In order to make progress in the renovations, we put up the walls, installed the vinyl and tile flooring, did most of the demolition, painted, and pretty much everything so that our kids wouldnt have to live in this environment anymore. Reg keeps telling us he is coming but never shows up when we can get a hold of him. The stuff we have asked for he has said he cant get it and put in things he has picked out instead of us being able to pick things. We still havent even got drawings we were promised at the beginning. Weve had 2 house floods from the work he has done. He said he would fix the damages and he hasnt. We were forced to live without power & heat overnight after they came in and worked on the electrical. Even he admitted these were unsafe living conditions yet still had us living like this for months.

      We entered the a Cost plus contract with the client after they had original issues with the contractor before us and they had started to do renovations themselves. After work commenced we had come up on the issue of the first work being done was all wrong and had to correct. This had lead to a lengthy delay, has the owners wanted to contact there insurance to see if they had option  through there were numerous changes to scope of work from everything to *****************,  subtraction and unforeseen problems from previous repairs. Through all of this we have decided to terminate the cost plus contract has the owners will not sign a contract for work nor for final financing to pay for project. We have only billed for work completed and are still owed a balance. We are worried if we continue to work the the **** will only grow and not be paid as well.
