On the 26th of July , I contacted a business in Edmonton known as the beauty empire yeg on instagram, she does body contouring in and I messaged her for a service , she asked me to pay a 50$ deposit for my appointment to be valid and I paid her just that amount, we then agreed that the rest of my deposit would be 50$ since the total was $101 . On the 30th of July I went in for this service and she asked me to pay her an extra 50$ she claimed that I paid for the wrong thing even though I paid exactly what she asked me to pay and what was listed on her instagram page , I agreed to pay the extra 50$ after she convinced me that I had to pay that for me to get my desired results . We did the service and during the service I complained that the frequency of the equipment she used on me was too high , she reduced it and continued , when I went back home I noticed a lot of things that weren’t listed on her page as side effects. I noticed the sensitivity in my mouth was bad as I couldn’t even completely feel what I was chewing and I also noticed that when I touched my head I couldn’t feel my scalp, even my hearing felt different. I took a nap and drank a lot of water as she advised but when I woke up that evening symptoms were still there . I messaged her again and she acted so confused, I also told her that before I would pay for the next session she had to assure me the symptoms I was feeling were normal , she replied ‘ sure go ahead ‘, I sent the money because she was pressing me to pay it before the next day as she was running a ‘discount’. After I paid and I noticed the symptoms weren’t going away , I messaged her and asked for a refund of the 50$ to the next appt deposit, she told me she wouldn’t refund me and this was completely against her policy on instagram where she says if you don’t message her 48hrs before your appointment to cancel you wouldn’t get a refund , my appointment was supposed to be for the 7th of august which is more than 48hr and she blocked me .
