Yes I work at a ***** ******** ***** *** **** and we purchased a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox LT from Cars Near Cost in Edmonton. They sent us a carfax dated from Dec 6 2022 that showed no claims so we prepared the purchase request and EFT $28,000 to them and had drivers on their way to pick the unit up. We always pull a new carfax the day of delivery and it now the carfax shows a claim of noticed structural damage reported by an auction on Dec 22. So they tried to sell the vehicle at the auction and it was reported as structural damage and did not report that to us at time of sale. Once I found out about the structural damage claim I told them I wanted to cancel the transaction and have them refund our money. The vehicle is still at their lot, they did not disclose structural damage they were aware of and refuse to give our money back. The manager was rude and confrontational. This place is super unethical and shady. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM

I had reached out to the Cars near Cost business in Edmonton, AB inquiring about a vehicle. We had a verbal agreement via telephone on a price for the vehicle. I had asked the salesmen to send me an official bill of sale for the vehicle, which was not provided, instead a text msg was sent with a break down of the price and taxes rather than a official document of the bill of sale. They had asked me to send my credit card # so that a $1,000 downpayment could be placed on the vehicle, which I had agreed to and had sent them information on May 20th 2022 and a receipt was provided by them. I had arranged to send $3000 dollars on May 21st 2022 via email to start the payments for the vehicle and another $3000 dollars would be sent on the following day then the rest of the money for the vehicle would be paid in cash upon transport arrival of the vehicle in Calgary. I had sent an e transfer of $3000 Friday May 21st. No receipt was provided from the business for this $3,000 transaction after it was sent as well as no official documents were signed by myself for this deal . I also did not sign nor was presented anything from the business stating that this $3,000 or the initial $1,000 was a non refundable money exchange. During the morning of May 22nd before the second $3000 e-transfer was sent I received news of a family emergency so I would need to return home to Halifax permanently and would no longer be able to financially afford the vehicle. I had reached out to the salesmen about my situation with him getting back to Tuesday May 24th to tell me that they were keeping my money and would not provide a refund. After talking to the GM ***** and offering them the option of keeping the initial $1000 deposit for the inconvenience they had still refused to refund the $3000 e transfer I had sent and stated that we had a deal and I bought the car. As no official documents were signed stating this money was non refundable, just looking for some help resolving this issue.
