In July 2021 I bought a bundle of 8 laser hair removal appointments from a tech at ActivMD Derm Spa (which is part of the Rao Dermatology business and performs cosmetic procedures). I completed a handful of sessions and noticed there were new, darker hairs appearing adjacent to treatment areas where there were none before. The hair in the treatment area became denser and darker as well. Basically, this business sold me a non-refundable treatment for hundreds of dollars that made my problem worse. I was horrified and left an honest Google review. Spa manager *** called me to follow up on the review on January 20th. We discussed my concerns about new hair growth being caused by the laser treatment and she agreed to refund my unused sessions. *** acknowledged that the heat of the laser may trigger dormant hair growth and that not everyone is a good candidate for laser. I felt relieved and grateful that she dealt with me fairly. A couple of hours later, she called me back. *** said ***** **o, the dermatologist, said they would give me half my refund now and the other half after I had deleted my original review. I deleted my review but I have not received any of my money. They owe me a refund for 6 unused sessions. See attached for the original receipt.Business response

Hello,
We did try to address this complaint with her directly. She bought a package of treatments and even signed an agreement indicating that there would be no refund.
She complained because she did not see any improvement after one treatment. Via phone, she was told that multiple treatments are necessary to get results, that is why we sell it in a package. She still wanted a refund, we did ask her to move her funds over to another treatment, she refused. We were willing to give the refund after her negative and unsubstantiated review was removed. She got upset and hung up the phone and never contacted us after. We will issue her a refund today now that the review has been removed. Thank you for being an intermediary.
