Door surgeon recently came to my house to look at front door hardware.The technician commented immediately about how expensive the hardware was (its average) then took it apart and showed my the pin that broke on the lever .He kept sending photos to someone and asking what to do. Then he said they could get a part and fix it but it would be 2weeks. He then went to his truck for 20 minutes and then came back with a quote for $1,100 to fix it.I asked why I wouldnt just replace it and he said it would cost 5times as much .I am in the interior business and order hardware for clients all the time. He left after charging me to show up and I then called and ordered a new lock set for $650.00.Today Door surgeon called me to ask if they could go ahead with the quote and when I told them the story and that they were ripping people who didnt know better offshe just said ok.,and hung up. DONT use these guys.I dont think they know what they are doing and they are robbing people who dont know any better.

Absolutely stay away for this company!The cable (not the spring) on our overhead garage door broke and we needed it fixed. I arranged for this company to fix the door - there was a $159 call out fee - okay, When the tech came he informed my wife that the cost would be $509 - she did agree to it (our mistake). The tech completed the door repair and submitted an invoice for $750.50. The call out fee was not included in the cable repair fee (why not?) and there was an additional "shop supply" charge of $46.76 (he sprayed the hinges!). The tech was here for less than 1 hour and did a hard sell on a maintenance package and highlighted what "should" be fixed. There is nothing wrong with the door!Why am I complaining - They were vague about the potential cost of the repair (but it is a fixed $509). They did not include the callout fee in the cost of the repair and $46 for materials, really? I contacted a couple of competitors this morning (after the fact) and their cost would have been $200 - $250. This is 1/3 the price that I paid! I phoned the company this morning to discuss the invoice and was greeted by one of the most rude dispatchers that I can remember. There was no discussion - these are the rates was her attitude - My guess she has had to state this multiple times.Overall, the technician was good but a pushing for additional repairs that were not needed. I paid $750 to install $40 worth of cables in 1 hour. I will never use this company again - or their sister companies and will do my best to ensure that others don't get ripped off like I was!

I do not recommend this company. I was charged $425 to "fix" the lock and install new weather stripping. The slidelock "fix" was basically banging it with a hammer and installing 2 washers behind the screw to line up the latch. Parts were left loose. Weatherstripping and two old washers should not cost $425.
