I took my practicum at the School of Medical Aesthetics in Edmonton, but the organization is based in Regina and Montreal. I enrolled in 3 courses at this school and paid $14,790.00. The courses were: Medical Aesthetics, Advanced Medical Aesthetics and Masters in Medical Aesthetics. I completed the first two courses successfully. They are giving me the "runaround " with the last course. They state in their brochure 90% of their graduates gain employment; this is untrue. I have applied to numerous salons/clinics and no one will hire me with 5 days of practical experience and two "diplomas".They claimed they would help with job placement: they did not. The 3rd and final course was a "Masters" in Medical Aesthetics and was supposed to finish October 25th. The material for this course was insubstantial and was not as described in their course outline. They tried to resolve the situation by offering a 2 day practical course December 5th and 6th in Edmonton. They emailed me today to postpone this again to March 25th. I have asked them to refund the 3rd course, the Masters, for $5000.00. They claim they have helped me enough. I am very sad and disappointed by this. I feel ******* and unprepared for a career in Medical Aesthetics. I had hoped to start a new life in this field that is not going to happen. They did not provide adequate hands-on training to build any degree of competence and confidence. I have a BA, BEd from Queens University in Kingston,Ontario and a Masters degree in Education, MichiganState University, so I know what a real school is. I worked as a teacher for over 20 years. The "School of Medical Aesthetics " is not a legitimate school and others need to be warned of this before they lose their money as well. I had problems dealing with this organization from the very beginning that I cannot outline here I spent valuable money from my retirement funds on these courses in the hope of a new, enjoyable career as a change from teaching.Business response

Good Morning
I was greatly distressed to receive this complaint as I was not informed about any issues regarding the student. It was unfortunately a lack of communication from our head office and said student.Holy did indeed come for her hands on training at our location, however it was prior to my start with the company. The instructor that was here for those dates is no longer with us and we have a new and better trained staff. Again because of the lack of communication from head office in Montreal, the issues regarding Holy were not disclosed to us and we were unable to help avoid the situation. She has been contacted vie email and a voice message was left on the phone number she provided with her complaint. Attached is a copy of the invoice issuing her refund for the portion of the course she was unable to complete. We send our deepest apologies for the inconvenience and issues she has had.

On May 30, 2022 I paid for 6 hair removal treatment from them for a grand total of $229.50. I was able to receive 3 Treatments as follow: May 30, June 29, and July 26, 2022. The manager of the Edmonton location as well as their only trained employee have quit and the company is refusing the give me a refund for my remaining 3 treatment. They also have no staff that is trained to provide the treatments. I did try to make an appointment with them on September 2 as well as September 13. Both time that have indicated they had no trained staff and would call me in the future when they would. I clearly indicated that this was not my problem and that I wanted my money back, as it is not my fault they are unable to complete the services. They then proceeded to put me on hold and hung up on me. On September 15, 2022 I emailed the general director and resquested a refund. They never got back to me again. All I am asking for is my reminder treatments to be refunded to me. I hope you can help me out. Thank you.Business response
