Too bad i need to give at least a star in order to write a review. This is our first time building a custom home with Gill Built in Ridgecrest Glennridding ravine which began back in Feb 2021. The sales staffs at the showhome were pleasant to deal with; however, the horror started to unfold when the drawing began in May until the final stakeout which took place in late Sep. The builder had never once made an effort to contact and meet with us to provide any guidance from the initial to final drawings. We were not properly informed at the beginning by the builder that our next door neighbor was actually increasing their footage by so much whereby the view to the left our home will be completely obstructed by their home. We went to Ridgecrest because of the ravine backing view in the first place. Now, all we can see to the left of our future house is the never ending side of our neighbor’s home. The most terrible part out of this was that we actually found this out by ourselves at the city permit stage when we asked for the plot maps of both houses. Again, who has the fiduciary duty to provide advice here? Me as a customer or you as the builder who is the building our home?? The builder knew this full well at the very beginning but he chose not to disclose and even tried to disguise this fact even though WE are also his clients. This issue would have been totally avoided had we been informed at the beginning the need to also extend the length of our home. By the way, we were probably his second or third client in that ravine area when we started talking to them in Feb 2021 so it is not like there are hundreds of us trying to build at that time. Our sense is that he won’t make any effort to work with you unless you increase square footage ($$$). When we escalated this matter to the builder, all he said was "well, the girls in the showhome wouldn’t have the knowledge in how the houses will be plotted during the drawing process" then he brushed us off. We have invested so much of our time and energy in this for the past year by taking our families to the showhome multiple times as we truly love the area so unfortunately there is no going back for us at this point. For those who are building in the ********** ****, please read my review and make sure you ask all the right questions. We are very disappointed with this builder and we regretted so much by going with them. Please think twice when you are building in ********** *********** ******.
