Good evening, On Monday, January 16, 2023, I reached out to Northgate GMC regarding a replacement radio/CD player because my screen was broken. They gave me a price of $400 for a refurbished one because they no longer make that model. I tried to schedule a service to install it and couldn't get a hold of them. So on Tuesday the 17th, I called the Parts department again and said to go ahead and order the radio, and I will put it in myself. In BOTH conversations, I was told that there was no programming required and that it should be an easy plug-and-play. After that conversation service department finally called me to say it would be $200 to install my radio. I decided to install it myself. The parts department called me on the 18th of January to tell me that my radio was in and that there was a $700 core charge if I didn't bring back my old radio. I then proceeded to remove my radio on the 19th of January and brought it in with me. They gave me my new radio, and I installed it in their parking lot. When I powered it up, it displayed "LOCKED." I went back in, and the parts department sent me to the service department, where they proceeded to tell me it would be $85 to unlock my radio. I told them that I was informed that there was no programming required and I should not be charged for this. They said it was $85. So I left. I have tried since then to speak with a manager only to get voicemail and no return call. I do not feel it is up to me to pay for the unlock because I was told it did not need programming. I was misinformed, and this should not have to come out of my pocket to enjoy my radio. I have attached my receipt for reference.

October 20/2022 I brought my car to Northgate GMC for an 11:00 am appt to have them put on my new winter tires I had purchased from them which was included in the costs for mount/balance/ install I had paid for. I was very rudely and disrespectfully treated by the service advisor the moment I came in who rudely stated that my appt time didn’t matter it was only to get me to the service drop off and I’d have to wait at least 2 hours behind other people. I asked for the Service manager and after approx 5 minutes ******* the asst service Mgr appeared. She told me they’re get my vehicle in in about 20 minutes and should be completed in about 40 minutes. After 30 minutes waiting I was told by ******* to come into the shop where the junior female tech still hadn’t even removed my summer tires saying she was unable to remove the wheel locks. These wheels had just been off the car a month earlier to install new brakes without issue. Then the service Mgr ****** proceeded to remove the first 3 wheel lock bolts off then brought another male tech to remove the 4th wheel lock who proceeded to strip the wheel lock and completely destroy the wheel lock key. ******* then proceeds to have parts “price out” a new set whereby they find out they have to get the new set from **** and tell me “their cost from **** is $170. Then Mgr ****** proceeds to tell me they are now going to CHARGE ME $160/ hr shop rate up to 2 hours to fix the issue saying it’s my fault. UNBELIEVABLE so now my free tire swap is going to cost me up to $490.00 because of their screw up. They say they’ll only charge me $130/hr shop rate and cover $70 of the lock cost. So bill ends up being 1 hour but they try to charge me $110 for the wheel locks not $100. So now my bill is $242.00 Angry and upset I leave the next day I call **** parts to find out the lock set cost is only retail $111.50, so they marked up the price and scammed me then refused to credit anything. Slimy auto sales culture practices led by **** ****
