      They will act like your best friend and promise to do everything to help you. As soon as the sale is completed, they will ghost you, block your calls and cancel their "personal" numbers. This starts at the sales floor all the way up to the *** Toxic people with no integrity, no conscience and no concern for the well being of the client. Their personal reputation is on the line as well as the reputation of the dealership itself. The vehicle that I purchased will be the thorn in the side of this dealership until they pay to fix it or they return all of my money.

      My experience with the service department was extremely disappointing. This was my first service with them and will be my last. I was in for my routine maintenance. Firstly, I was welcomed by a unfriendly service advisor who had a bit of a chip on her shoulder with the fact that I didn't pull my car into the garage, but rather parked and came in (it was my first time, how was I to know). The attitude continued. She walked me through the paperwork very quickly. I had an additional matter with my seats that I asked was looked into. Part way through the day, I received a text asking what I wanted to proceed with. I wasn't expecting to be communicated in this manner, so did not see if for about 1 hour. I assumed (bad on me) that this was a part of the maintenance, so I asked for 1 of the 4 to be done. When I came to get the vehicle at the end of the day, I was given a LARGE bill. It turned out they fixed something I did not ask for. After some discussion, they did not charge me for this mistake on their part (that was the only good to come of this experience). A small, but humorous thing, is that it was raining all day. They spent the time and money to wash my car, however could not be bothered to wipe down the dash or steering wheel - a service I have received in all of my prior vehicles with other companies. As for the seats, they simply told me to steam clean and where to go. I went to this place and it turns out that company doesn't even have that steam clean option any longer (it hasn't in months). Obviously they didn't take the time nor care to actually help me out. Due to their extremely poor customer service, lack of attention to detail and bloating costs, I will not be returning and have been telling others, as I will continue to do.

      Went to VW to get the rear wiper arm replaced on my 2013 VW golfwagon. Just the arm not the motor and I told the service department that all that needed done. The qoute came to $322. After that qoute I called around to other shops not dealerships and they charged me $50. I had to pay a $90 diagnosis charge at VW just for them to pull it in and out of their shop. ******** what these dealerships think they can get away with

      Absolutely the worst! Stay away from their sales teams, it's a management issue. The verily believe people who walk into the showroom are stupid. ABSOLUTELY you should avoid their service department. We had two dealings with Southgate; the first involved the replacement of timing chain and oil separator, when we had the vehicle brought in for service, we asked what the cost would be to fix the issue. The service department refused to give us even an estimate - we had already called a reputable VW mechanic (unfortunately he was on vacation). So we had a ballpark estimate of the costs. Southgate refused multiple requests to provide us with a cost estimate. We are smart enough to know what an estimate is costs could change. Instead, we borrowed a truck and rented a car hauler from *****. Off to Calgary we went. Within 25 minutes of getting the car into the shop we had an estimate of $4300.00. Done, fix the car please. The bill was slightly less. Other than the inconvenience of driving to Calgary, there was no further aggravation. We recently had a check engine light come on, and the vehicle needed to have an oil change. Southgate completed the oil change but did NOTHING regarding the check engine light and released the vehicle back to my wife. When she asked about why there was no phone call to follow up on the check engine light, she got a shrug of the shoulders and lets see when we can rebook you. We live 2.5 hours outside of Edmonton. When we got the "hey how'd we do email" they got 1-Star across the board. Guess what happened next, the Southgate service department called, concerned about the language. The was no foul language in the survey, just a simple message that Southgate has a nice buidling that doesn't deserve the staff that work there. Another head-shake was the lack of a courtesy shuttle! Unbelievable! But thanks for running the vehicle under the car wash. Stay away from Southgate. Take the drive to ********* ** ** ******** Tell them **** sent you. We've had six VWs since 2004 (2x TDI; 3x Jetta; 1x Tiguan). Southgate has given us reason to stop buying VWs, that is until we head to *******.

      I had a similar experience with the same dealership; I am definitely not going back to the same location.
