I have an issue with the electric service we are receiving from Atco Electric here in **********. In the past month our power has gone out 3 different full days for about 10 to 12 hours each time, and then went out again today briefly. None of it is caused be storms or fires, it is obviously caused by failing infrastructure. Each time this repeatedly happens, my wife loses an entire day of income from her home business, we have to throw away food thawed from our freezer, we have to eat out causing even more costs, etc. I reached out to Atco to simply request a rebate on "distribution charges" on my next bill as they are obviously having issues distributing power to their customers. I was told to "read the term and conditions" as they don't offer rebates! I don't think that is much to ask considering we are all paying the highest distribution rates in history right now and they are making a ton of money on us. It is to the point where we looking into prices of backup home generators because of the money we lose each time there is yet another repeated outage, and they couldn't care less about their customers because Atco is the only supplier and they know that. Also, I suspect these outage issues are going to continue because just today, yet again, there was another outage for a short time. There has been more outage time in the last month than the last 12 years in our home, the electric service is now like a third-world island here in **********, and us customers are simply expected to just shut up, tolerate this sub-standard service, and keep paying these HIGHEST energy prices ever seen in my 55 years! Also about 2 summers ago Atco changed my meter from analog to digital, the employee who read the analog meter mis-read it at 1000kw hours MORE than it actually was so my power bill that month was tripled, I had to prove that it was their error to get my money back by getting them to bring the old meter back to compare the true reading with my bill! VERY FRUSTRATING!
