I filled out the online form “looking for a free quote or estimate” regarding a flickering light I have in my basement stairwell. A few days later I received a call from a man named *** who stated to work for quality electric and said “I hear you have a flickering light you need looked at”. I confirmed this to be the reason of the quote -estimate request and he said he can be over in half an hour. *** arrived with an apprentice and I showed him the light. He looked around for maybe 10 min and let me know it was some wires that fell loose from the wire cap behind the light switch cover and that he would replace the cap and put the wires in the cap. They were in my home no more than 30 min. When leaving *** said he doesn’t normally do house calls and someone would be in contact regarding billing. Not once at any time from the time I submitting for a free Estimate or quote was anything monetary discussed. I assumed I would have some sort of a charge for the time it took to put the wires back in the cap. When I received the bill I was charged at rate of $165 with a two hour minimum totally $346.50. This was absolutely shocking because as far as I knew this was an estimate he was coming to do and at no point was I ever informed of a 2 hour minimum service charge for them to come and look at my light. I have called 2x and spoke with reception to discuss this billing discrepancy and said I am willing to pay half (one hour) I was told both times a manager will call and this has not happened. I would like the settle this issue and move on. They lack in clear Communication regarding their charges and should be upfront, the charge should have been told beofre the entered my home as I would have declined or found 2 hours of work for them do to! the website stating a free quote is false advertising if your charging a two hour minimum to find out what the problem is. I also find it unprofessional to not return the calls when someone is questioning a billing issue.
