      I sent the deposit of $350.00 for the build for this toddler mid-loft bed with stairs that could move and slide under the bed in a farm house style that would grow with my child August 12, 2022 with being told by ****** ********* **** ******** ************** when inquiring before hiring that the build would take him no longer then a month. In total We paid him $1,732.50 for this bed. that my father who inspected it said is completely unsafe after the stairs for the bed broke from under me on Feb 6th 2022. despite much back and forth face book conversations and much deflecting, ignoring and constant reasons/excuses and delays that as of Feb 24th (today) my father(who has agreed to talk to ****** on my behalf as i don't have carpentry knowledge) has not heard back from him for a date and time to drop the stairs off. Making us feel as he has no intent to resolve the problem properly for both bed and stairs and make any of this right(please note i have extensive pictures of what was done incorrectly). So at this time i would like to drop off the stairs and bed back off at his home and get a full refund as my father who has been a carpenter who built homes, and furniture. Then later was a furniture store owner who had to watch what he brought in and was sold, was safe is now making a new safer bed from scratch despite his own health concerns. Another concern being that he says/advertises on his Facebook business page he builds decks, fences, beds, tables etc but doesn't seem to realize there are codes for things upon questioning; i worry he could build a bed like the one he did for us and a child could get seriously hurt or killed due to the lack of knowledge, proper workmanship and lack of his personal accountability. Pls Call me The invoice i got was an emailed invoice over text. ****************************************************** To which my father pointed out that i was charged GST however on his invoice he does not have his GST number displayed on his invoice.

      The project was in fact delayed for multiple reasons. I underwent a personal issue along with an illness. This was stated to the customer and they were understanding and granted an extension. A free gift was also offered to customer to remain in good standing. They denied saying it wasn’t necessary. 


      I received a message from the customer while the business was closed and I was away for holidays. Although we were closed, a prompt, same day reply was sent. She stated that the stairs broke and she wanted a partial refund. She stated her father came by the very next day to take it all apart and fix the stairs.  I offered to fix or replace the stairs. She denied. She wanted “partial” refund. She requested that I talk to her father, to which I did. Her father and I came to a resolution that I’d fix the stairs. Before I was back from holidays, she had already went ahead and contacted the ***. I then messaged her inquiring as to why she went this route, she replied saying she wants a full refund now. I had offered to both fix the issue or refund her for the stairs. That was no longer suffice to the customer. The bed was in good working order and had no issues with it. Therefor, no refund would be given for the bed itself. Her father took everything apart and tampered with the bed. Pictures of wood splinters and wood dust is shown in pictures. I’m going to ask that her father does not have any further part in this as he was very vulgar, hostile, and unprofessional to myself. 


      A week ago a message was send to the customer offering a resolution. She read the message but did not respond.

      Good morning this is been sent by ***** *******, I am responding on behalf of my wife to protect her emotional and mental wellness as this has taken quite a toll on her. I am rejecting this response because: The wood dust and chips found in the picture was from the structural damage of the stairs, we stated there was no alterations of the bed or stairs the other debris was from the bed post to the wall and it had to be removed thus breaking the baseboard. The screw used without consent was a testament of the unsafe design of the bed. The bed was twisting and the best thing we could do as parents was to remove it from our toddlers room. The reason for my wife’s delay is simply we are waiting for a professional carpenter to finish his report on the poor condition and breach of building codes and my wife’s mental health has taken a toll, the reason why the bed was brought in question, we didn’t discover the problems until we were getting ready to remove the danger from the bedroom.

      In response to ***** *******’s comment about mental health, this issue has caused myself mental struggles as well. I am a professional full time firefighter, and I use this hobby as a way to relieve stress from my day to day job. This is a hobby which in turn makes side money. I have never told anyone that I am a professional carpenter nor that I sign off on building code. You can have 100 different carpenters look at the bed and tell you it isn’t up to code. I too made that very clear to ****** upon ordering. 
      The dust in that picture on both the floor and baseboard is in excess. That would not be from removing screws to dismantle the bed. 
      Lastly, there was no screws used in installation of the bed in the room. The screws were used when building it and assembling it. None of my screws were used to “mount it to a baseboard”. I have offered a resolution weeks ago for this matter. ****** asked for a partial refund and that’s exactly what was offered.
