This is the email I sent to the Routes Car Rental after experiencing appalling and unprofessional service at their Calgary branch: "I unfortunately just had a very negative experience at your YYC location. We were waiting for an hour at the counter because of numerous mistakes on the part of the customer service representatives including (1) a broken printer which we waited over 15 minutes for the reps to resolve (which they did not end up resolving), and (2) the service representative told us they gave our reserved car away to another customer and we had to wait for another similar car. When we mentioned this to the managers asking if we could receive a discount for the mistakes on their part, they told us we were wrong and refused to compensate us for their mistakes which cost us extra time. Besides this your staff were incredibly rude and condescending when I was inquiring about a possible discount and actually referred to my request as "ridiculous". Another customer had actually approached us afterward and shared his unprofessional experience with the same staff. We also saw these same staff members raising their voices at other customers. I would like to lodge a specific complaint against the managers who were present today from 2-3 pm (there was one female manager and another man who was her manager). I would also to formally request a discount for this experience. I'm happy to speak further about this. This was a very disappointing and humiliating experience and I'm sure this is not the standard you set for your workers. " Their customer service representatives went back and forth with us over 3 months and nothing was done. They refused to compensate us for our time and it seems that nothing was done about their issue from their end. I am a physician in Ontario and being treated like this at such a stressful time is completely abysmal. In addition, when I wrote a review on Google for them they responded passive aggressively (photo attached).
