I have been very patient with trying to get my warranty coverage for the repair on my vehicle. ****** has now burdened me with a bill for an engine repair (that has a history of issues since day of purchase) because he has it labeled as engine failure due to my fault which makes any warranty nil & void in the eyes of the area director. I have been very reasonable in preparing my case to them several times to demonstrate engine failure as the cause. (can provide more proof if you need this) To recap. They said I drove it overheating to cause damage to the engine when I did not. These engines have a history of engine issues such as what happened with mine. How can camshafts, lifters be damaged from overheating? How come there is no code to show overheating or just 5 days ago another certificate dealership cleared it to drive? camshafts and lifters do not get destroyed by an engine getting overheated.I brought it in for the loss of coolant .my main issue needed a deeper look into. One shop I thought fixed it. The same issue arose in 5 days. Finally, I had southside dodge find the root cause and am grateful for fixing it. But to say I drove it overheated. I came in to see them on Monday, Jan 23 2023 to negotiate my billing. I was told to come back another day. All I was looking for was a second opinion by a professional mechanic on why it was damaged and to have it approved by the area manager for warranty coverage. I am upset they suggested that I should have towed it to ***** in order for my warranty to be covered. The Jeep has been this way since the day I bought it. How it was manufactured is not their problem but I do expect help and assistance from the dealership to get things straightened out for repairs on a faulty engine so I can keep driving the vehicle. I just want the strong motor that is expected from a Jeep. Now I have a jeep that has an engine that dies on me at 60,000 KM, then again after 40,000 km when it was completely repaired.Business response

The air filter was installed upside down causing debris and dirt to get in the sensor, they are refusing to rake care of it.Initial Complaint

Terrible dealership. From The management to service, nothing wrong with the salesman... A few issues: My wife and & were getting some routine maintenance done on our 2018 Dodge Durango. I picked it up drove down the road, when i noticed excessive black smoke coming from the rear, moments later i received a call stating they forgot to put the rear diff plug back in and did not offer anything, i had to fight with them to get a free oil change ! On a second note... I recently traded in my truck and purchased a 2016 Ram 3500. In the deal we agreed on getting the truck tuned & deleted. I have now owned the truck for 22 days and put less than 1000Kms on the truck and it needs a head gasket and potentially a thermostatic valve as the transmission temp climbs very quickly. I got the truck inspected at another shop to confirm. The dealership is not willing to make the " deal " right. They are not willing to work with me and expect me to pay to get the truck back to stock so they can " try " to get it covered by a good will warranty and there is no guarantee it will get approved and IF it does it is only covered to a certain amount. So I am on the hook for a head gasket repair & a thermoastic valve which in turn when they are in there stat weather or not- worse case, needs a new transmission l in these fiscal times. I went down to the dealership a couple times and tried to work in out like civil human beings and unfortunately they are delaying the whole situation and are not willing to work with me. I have had ongoing communication with the dealership. As i stated on the phone when you returned my call earlier this week. There has been some changes to the original complaint. The dealership agreed on fixing the head gasket issue, when they found out i did not withdrawal my AMVIC or BBB complaint they were upset *** ** ** ******* ***** ** *** **** ******** * **** ******* They are now telling me they will not be fixing the head gasket issue although we previously agreed on them fixing it & paying the entire bill. The agreement was for myself to pay for the upgraded head studs. They told me the job will now be delayed until everything comes to a resolution. My truck is ripped apart and i am having a hard time getting to work with only 1 vehicle in a family of 5. Upon further inspection of the vehicle there is a clear indication that the truck will need a transmission rebuild/ new transmission. Inspected by 2 shops. I owned the vehicle now for a total of 35 days, put less than 1000Kms on it. The head gasket issue was brought to their attention on October, 21/2021, i fought with them for a week before they decide they stated they would fix the issue. The transmission issue was found by a external shop on the same day.

Please see the attached Judgement from AMVIC. AMVIC had found that the customer's modifications to the truck caused the issue. We are still covering the head gasket for him out of empathy for the situation, even though we are not required to based on the AMVIC officer's judgement. The AMVIC officer ***** ******* can be contacted at ******************. Mr. ******* even went as far as to contacting the previous owner of the vehicle before it was Sold to Southside for Resale.
