Armour Foundation Repair was asked to come assess damage to my foundation early in March 2022 after water was discovered leaking into the south basement area at the footing. Initially, for the internal repair portion, it was estimated that 32’ of carbon fibre reinforcement would be required. Please note that drywall and insulation had been removed at the time of the quote, only studs remained. Once work commenced, an additional 20’-25’ of carbon fibre was discussed and agreed upon, estimated at an additional $1500-$2000. This would be a quoted total of 57’, and the bill for this portion of the repair should have been ~$4500. I was charged $6000, and 85’ of carbon fibre was used. This additional 28’ was not reviewed or accepted by myself. In addition to the amounts used, the method in which it was applied is not structurally integral. Areas of the carbon fibre are “bubbled” from the wall, making zero contact. Other areas have little to no epoxy, rendering them useless. The company was called back to fix this issue, and it was not done satisfactorily. Areas remain without epoxy and not making proper contact. The applications of epoxy left runs down the wall which pooled in certain areas of the floor. Due to quality concerns, I have chosen not to have the company return to excavate and waterproof the exterior of the house as seen on the quote.
