An account I shared with my daughter was terminated in May. This account had a phone number which was a house line but delivered via internet. When I inquired about 'porting' this number I was stonewalled & given non-factual information about the process. In fact they appear to be ignorant of the rules. Not being able to get a straight answer except to be charged for this service I declined. They called back twice with the same offer which I declined. Now they have levied an invoice against me for services not provided to me. Their resolution system sucks as does the knowledge level of their support staff. Indeed for the 15 years of 'service' the phone suffered bad reception outages & other problems. They never resolved the issue. I lived with substandard service as even ***** could not deliver good signal. I initially called in May and asked about porting & had to have a call back because the agent couldn't help. It was two weeks later when I received a call & was told I would have to open another account & pay for a service which is free by any other carrier & should be with this one too. I declined. The agent referred me to a supervisor. I received a call on the 29th June with an offer to pay for this service by opening an account & again I declined. They proceeded to open an account in my name & have billed me for deactivation of an account & back billed me four months & now want payment. No one in the organization seems to have any idea how to deal with a situation that should easily resolved as any other carrier will attest. I would try to resolve this issue myself but in 15 years I have not been able to resolve most issues with their service. I simply had to endure their lack of communication & resolutions skills.

As far as great installation and speeds I give MCS a big thumbs up. A friend of ours is an installer with MCS and he talked us into switching. We were with Xplornet for $70/month unlimited. MCS was $80, however, it wasnt made clear to us that this was a capped internet (600 gb per month). Thats where we ran into problems. We stream ** with Firestick. We got hooked up around Sept 20, 2022. 6 days later, we were notified that wed used 75% of our internet. We worked with MCS and did some setting changes on the Firesticks and the apps we were subscribed to, in order to reduce data usage even so far as their tech telling us that we had to physically unplug our Firesticks every night (like, who does that ???). It helped somewhat, but it was still not enough. October, the package reset for the new month. We were away on Oct 5 and several afternoons nobody was here. Also, lots of days we just decided we had to keep the ** off so as to conserve what was left (which I DID NOT LIKE AT ALL !). Still by Oct 15 we were again notified that we were at 75% usage. I hated having to constantly be monitoring usage on an almost daily basis. I hated having to keep my ** off when I would have enjoyed having it on. It was clear that MCS just wasnt working out for us. Of course they wanted to upgrade us, but their unlimited package was more than double the cost we were paying with Xplornet, and that was not an option for us. My neighbor is also experiencing the same issues with her Firesticks and MCS.To say that I deeply regret cancelling Xplornet is an understatement. We never had the slightest worry about data usage. Unfortunately, the Xplornet program we were on is no longer available ?? so Weve switched again - this time to ***** Smart Hub, Unlimited - $90 per month ($10 of that is the equipment for two years - then it will drop to $80 per month) and so far, so good ??
