Purchased a heat pump through North Island Mechanical in April 2022. In November 2022 when weather became cold, discovered heat pump unit will not defrost properly leading to ice build up causing possible damage to unit and inability to use in subzero temperatures requiring backup heat source use. Unit is fully under warranty but samsung requires HVAC installer to initiate warranty. North Island Mechanical will not help me warranty unit and unit remains non- functional in subzero freezing temperatures. I have been dealing with tech support on this matter and awaiting a factory ordered part. This complaint hasn’t been taken lightly, and as such, we’ve followed the directives we’ve been given by tech support representatives regarding the complaint. There are, from what I’ve been told, no warm weather defrost testing abilities for said equipment.
