            Mazda Dealership Manager invited me to the Dealership; picked me up at New Westminster, BC. and told me that they had a good deal for me re 2010 ***** ******** at 11,500. They told me their Bank approved everything and they wanted me to sign papers. I agreed. I’m a First Nation’s Veteran Woman of 65 years old. For 5 hours, I was delayed without cause. I was upset and almost in tears, when they finally told me, the Bank raised the amount and rejected the vehicle I wanted. Sadly, I was driven home by the Manager’s brother, who made his first long drive from Chilliwack to New Westminster. He was a very nice boy. I believe this was racism against me as a Woman and a Veteran of Canada. I’m sad to see that businesses feel so much hatred ******* ***** *******. The young driver who drove me home, told me I was the only First Nations person who has dealt with them. I’m a truthful person and was extremely honest with Mazda Dealership.

            Murray Mazda Chilliwack is a dealership staffed by people from all walks of life, ethnicities and religious backgrounds. We are proud of our inclusivity and the values that we live by every day. Unfortunately, we do not control banks or their approvals, and believing that the banks approval has anything to do with our valuing of members of the First Nations is completely untrue. As for the statement that you are the only First Nations person who has dealt with the dealership, this couldn't be further from the truth. We are disappointed that you feel that the banks handling of your application had anything to do with our valuing you as an individual, as our Financial Services Manager continued to work extremely hard to try and make an alternative vehicle work for you.
