Be very leery of giving your credit card information to Bennett Sheet Metal & Heating Ltd. I provided them with that information to pay for an invoice relating to a maintenance service call on our gas furnace. They then returned to attempt to diagnose a problem relating to our gas fireplace which they did a maintenance check on, after which it wasn't working properly but it was working before. Original suggestion was that I may need a new burner, and after a two-hour service call, and it is still not working. The comment was recommend replacing the fireplace module. We arranged for the original company who installed the fireplace to see if they could determine the issue. Well they did. It was a dirty pilot light and nothing to do with a burner or module. I emailed Bennett's to advise that they were not authorized to use my credit card as it was only given for purposes of paying for the furnace service call. Their service manager called me to advise that they would indeed proceed with payment using my card. I told them if they did I would allege it being a fraudulent transaction. I lodged a charge of fraud with my credit card company providing all emails between us and Bennett's service manager. Mastercard issued me a temporary credit for Bennett's charge until it could be sorted out. It was sorted out with a notice from Mastercard that they determined my dispute was valid. I would never deal with this company again.
In all fairness the only employees I had dealings with were their service man and their service manager. I never spoke to the owner who, in retrospect, I should have contacted immediately on being told they were going to process payment on my card, and I would allege fraud. The original owner, Ray, founded and operated the company for well over 50 years. He was always a pleasure to deal with and was very well respected and much-liked business owner. Unfortunately, I had to leave a star rating. This is a zero-star review.
