We took our puppy here to be boarded over the weekend back in July. When we picked him up sunday he seemed tired and off/ initially thinking he was just tired from playing with our dogs. We asked how the weekend went and the owner said it went well. Come Tuesday he still seemed off and we found a small wound on his leg so we took him to the vet and called playpen to ask if anything happened in which the owner stated nothing happened. Once at the vet they shaved part of his leg and he had a huge gapping laceration he was also lethargic and had a fever from the now infection. Called again stating my dog was going to need stitches and asked what happened. Finally he told the truth that our dog had his leg caught in the crate door overnight and they found him hung up in the crate in the morning. I was told that their vet first aide had assessed his leg and cleaned it "it was simply a rug burn that wasn't open" therefore didn't think it was necessary to communicate anything had happened when we picked him up or had called the first time. Despite being a "rug burn" he immediately paid for our vet bill in cash. Accidents happen with his leg being caught and they have made some mediocre fixes to the kennel doors. But I am mostly upset of how hard I had to fight to get the truth. Had I known there was a wound there I would have assessed my dogs lethargy closer and taken him in the same day.
