      RE:          ******* Steinhuaser

I am in receipt of the above referenced consumer complaint.  It is important to know, that **** ****** ****** ***. does not directly sell to consumers. Our sales to Canadian Retailers are FOB, Millersburg, Oregon.  The home in question was sold by **** ****** ***** to ****** ** ***.

It is my understanding that the ***********’s purchased their home through ******* ** ***. in Kamloops, British Columbia.

In Canada the selling retailer administers the home warranty.  We have asked the retailer that purchased the home from **** ****** *****, ****** ** ***. to contact the ***********’s directly to facilitate the next steps in addressing their concerns.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

      Sincerely,

      ******* ***********.
a lot of the defects in the home  are not warranty and they are defects from the factory that were on the delivery date.As a consumer that has paid in full should have the product that they purchased in good faith,to be brought up to the expectations and standards, that the product showed. Most materials needed to fix defects and match materials are not available in Canada. To fix the window we have to have custom made the kitchen cubboards would have to be replaced. The two companies are having a pissing match and we are paying for it. We are not asking for anything but the product we payed for to be finished and brought up to the standard we payed for. Palm Harbar homes received $200,000.00 in full on delivery. We payed another $50,000.00 to metro homes. We were under the understanding that the home would be finished in spring when weather warmed up. We would appreciate that they work it out and that they do the right thing. We appreciate your help and efforts and pray that some additional pressure may help this be resolved. For us to seek legal help would just break us. Look forward to seeing your response  Thank you.

I have given this company $10,000 as a deposit for a modular home. I was to move in April 1st 2022. I went to the company for an update as I had not noticed any movement in the construction of the property my home was to be build on. The doors to the company were locked. with a sign saying it was closed. I tried calling multiple phones with no answers. I finally got someone to answer and was told that the owner has locked the doors and took all the money from multiple people who also put deposits on homes. I called the owners personal line and he is not answering. and will not get back to me as to when he is returning my money to me.

April 3, 2021 I put a $20,000 deposit down on a brand new modular and was told I would be in my home "mid-August 2021, at the earliest" (their words). I stopped in for updates every week to two weeks to be told around July, that they've started to dig ground in the new park that my new modular was destined to live in. I drove by and there was nothing happening. Many other times I was told that my home was on order and that they started breaking ground. Nothing ever happened. In September I received information that my place would be ready for me in November 2020. I thought, okay, I can do November...at least there's an end date. In October my salesman, ***** ******* called and asked me to stop in or call him back. This time the story was that I wasn't getting my place until spring 2022. This time the excuse wasn't Covid or the ********** ************* ******* **** (for the first time) etc, this time the delay was blamed on the ******** ****** ***** ***** said the ******** ****** **** was delaying the permit process. Two days later I called the *** to find out that Metro Homes JUST APPLIED for the permit on that new modular park. I started looking for a place through the real estate route ** * *** ***** ***** ****** *** *** ******* ***** ********* ***** **** *** **** ******** ***** ******. I found a modular by private sale and had "cancelling my home with Metro Homes" as one of my subjects/conditions. They wanted that in writing so I emailed them that I was cancelling and asked when I can expect my $20,000 back. Several phone calls, text messages and emails later, I have been promised my $20,000 would be ready on three different days. Then $5,000 on Mon Dec 13. I have received nothing.. Not even an explanation. One of the phone calls the owner Greg S****** *** **** *********** and swore. Stating he should wait to give me my refund after he sees it from the factory in the states. All I want is the truth and my refund. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
